Hey Mav! Ear infections are very serious and can gradually worsen extremely fast. I highly suggest you see a doctor because if there’s one thing you should absolutely not ignore or “pass” or treat at home is your ears. Hope you get better soon.

I can't agree enough. If it's bad enough, you can have permanent hearing loss, or, more likely, a spreading of the infection to other parts of your body. Ive experienced a stubborn ear infection spread to my sinuses and that sucked.

Especially when water gets into it. God I can tell you I was born with an ear infection and at it’s worst it literally feels like a migraine. My mom use to make a paper funnel , jam it into my ear and lit the other side on fire. It helped, but what really helped were ear drops from the doctors 😂

It looks like your little excursion was a success, I actually think it would be a special place to camp overnight for personal reasons. But let me say, you screwing around with your hearing like that is unwise very unwise! It could put a swift in to all your journeys if you mess around with such serious aspects of your health and lose your hearing being so foolish! I don't know what the stubborn appeal is the sticking garlic in your ear when you've already had serious trouble hearing loss for as long as you have,(two months?) stop playing, go to the damn doctor, quit screwing around or you'll lose something very precious to you and you may never get it back!!! Mav: A big Thank you for taking us along on your adventures and travels. I appreciate the time, effort, money and energy you take with allowing us to be a part of your cooking gourmet meals, recipes and fine dining at sunset. It's been fun to follow you for years from the Volkswagon to the new truck, from tent camping to purchasing property and set up an Airbnb. It's been endearing to watch your interaction and navigation with other cultures. In all you do, you remember to give back, share and donate. In this manner you have proven to be a class act. I have learned a lot, especially from your showing us how to be prepared when traveling far and not to just depend on cell phones, to get a satellite link phone to have emergency mode of communication. In your travels, far and near, you make sure no profanity and are law abiding. All of this is really enriching and appreciated. Of all of your videos, from catching macho monster fish, lobster catching ice fishing, the one I enjoyed the most was the one where the mouse got in your truck. Thank you for the memories of all things, great and small. You are appreciated. From your 65 year old follower. Amen.

My son got ear infections a lot when he was little and always was sent home with an antibiotic. Not good. I learned to treat them with onion juice and the ear infections pretty much stopped. On the rare occasion he ever got an ear ache he would ask me for the onion juice and he never took another antibiotic. He’s 31 now and has had one ear infection that I know of - he said he still uses that treatment on himself. My husband even uses it. It was my first experience with naturopathic treatments and I was sold. I’ve not seen a regular doctor in nearly 25 years for an illness. Have almost never see an naturopath either for learning how to treat illnesses on the very rare occasions one of us gets sick. Directions for this are: Take a yellow onion and cut it in half. Collect the juice into a spoon or something to pour from. You can squeeze drops from the onion to get about a teaspoon- I try to have a couple onions in case one is a bit dry. Pour the juice in your ear and leave it for about 10 minutes. Maybe 7-8 minutes. And then drain it out. Caught early, it usually takes one treatment. If you wait you might need 2-3 treatments. Works every time.

I use to get chronic ear infection my ear drums ruptured ab 3 times a piece and the only thing that can help an ear infection thats lasted this long is medication wont be long before ur ear drum exploads causing a small hole in the drum and hearing loss in the future which you will have to get patched. Best solution is tubes in ur ears and ear drops along with sleeping on the opposite side effected with ur head elevated. Might be uncomfortable but thats how itll drail theres channels/tubes that drain ur ears and fluid build uo when they cant drain properly is what causes ear infections.

Next time you’re near a health food store- get a bottle of garlic mullein oil. Add some warm garlic mullein oil to your ear every few hours when you have an ear infection. Much better than a clove of garlic 😂

Mav, you should go to shoppers drug mart and pick up Polysporin antibiotic for ear/eye drops. It helped me when I developed an ear infection.

Enjoyed this. I'd love being up there on that tower! Also seeing the landscapes, the rock structures and the platform tower was really very cool. About the tower... I'm wondering if maybe a helicopter could hover and not land but drop a rescue bucket onto that landing area for airlift transport. That actually is a reasonable place for that kind of helicopter rescue using the bucket method.

It’s too close to the cliff face for a helicopter.

@@jonhamilton5789 Not necessarily, a chopper could hover a good 50-100 feet above and still make a bucket rescue.

@@jonhamilton5789 Depending on the kind of and size of the Helicopter it actually might be doable still. During the VIETNAM CONFLICT (WAR) our 🇺🇸 HELICOPTER PILOTS LANDED or continued to Hover Balance on the side of mountain cliffs. That's one of the major reasons that the Osprey helicopters were created for later in the Gulf Conflicts.. A highly trained, Rescue Flight Team could could mostlikely pull it off. Also, I've seen some Oil Rig WILD-CATERS pull-off some pretty amazing stunts with close-in tricky situations too.

@@SephirothEGS Thanks for having my 6 on that. Yes, with the right kind and size helicopter I believe it's doable with a highly skilled FLIGHT RESCUE TEAM.

If you think this would be fun (I fuckin do l!) Check out The Frying Pan on here. Old naval base 33 miles or so off the coast of the outer Banks, a prove owner bought it for a nice price! I think they do like overnighting on it, which would be so cool.

Try a cotton ball and a beanie. It helps keep your ear warm and puts pressure to help relieve pain. Hope you feel better soon Mav!

You need to put warm garlic oil in that ear and sleep on the opposite side for atleast 30 mins to get rid of that infection. Use cotton ball to put it in and to hold it down, and it works. That’s how we do it in India.

You should buy a bunch of different MRE's and try a different number each time you go backpack camping. You can be surprised by what you get and can review them all.

@@NoProGoPronto Yeah I know he tried a few. I'm talking about future videos when he goes on these little backpacking trips and packs light. Instead of having to get those mountain house meals (which are awful) it'd be interesting to see him test a surprise MRE. Just my opinion tho.
