I never will understand why you seem to attract the number of picayune, ridiculous comments and criticisms that you do, but I am truly glad you keep making these videos in spite of them. I have yet to see one in which I have not learned something new, and as a civilian who never had the honor of serving, I appreciate the fact that you are direct and straightforward in what you are showing and why. There are, in my opinion, far too many KZitem channels that treat things like "escape and evade" as something that anyone can do with a little practice, whereas you said right from the jump that this is not what you're getting into, and here's why. Please keep up the great work, and keep the videos coming! The Dakota fire hole is something I had heard of, but had not seen practiced and it was amazing to see in use.

I was in the McDonald’s drive-through this morning and the young lady behind me leaned on her horn because I was taking too long to place my order. “Take the high road,” I thought to myself. So when I got to the first window I paid for her order along with my own. The cashier must have told her what I'd done, because as we moved up she leaned out her window and waved to me and mouthed "Thank you.", obviously embarrassed that I had repaid her rudeness with a kindness. When I got to the second window I showed them both receipts and took her food too. Now she has to go back to the end of the line start all over. Don't screw with us OLD PEOPLE. lol

First of all - great video! For increase the stealth, you can also cover your shelter with some branches and leafs. If its sandy area, you can weth the poncho from outside and put some local dust on it in order to get it's pattern closer to the background (of course, it's better not to use woodland camo on sand)). At least that's what we did in the military.

As a gardener, I'm watching you build that fire pit, Dakota Fire Hole, thinking, man that's good dirt. What we got here in Tampa is sand and sandspurs. Because it would be damn funny, I'd love to see you "accidentally" pan the camera, in in that shot, for just a moment, there's like a 60 foot diesel pusher mobile home sitting just off camera. You're doing that coffee wrongly. Yep. Boil the water, put the coffee into the water, stir and let sit for a minute or so, then stir and pour into your strainer. Also, cotton flannel works damn well for me, as the strainer/filter. You don't need that paper crap. You can keep a handkerchief size piece of cotton flannel cloth and use that for years. I've got all kinds of coffee makers, but still boil my water, put in the coffee (heat off), stir, let sit for a minute or so, then stir and pour through my flannel strainer. Perfection. Even the strainer, just shake the coffee grounds off it, and let it dry. You can rinse it, but I don't most of the time, the seasoned filter makes better coffee. Love it!

I am an old lady but I sure to love your camping tips. Who knows, maybe I will need them someday escaping from my "rest home?"LOL! I was a girl scout and so once I knew the knots you teach and how to locate myself in the woods. It has been a good practice, kinda like they say dancing does for old people with memory issues. Plus who knows, scaling out the window and making it on the run, these things may be helpful too, right? But one thing I wish you would show us is how to make a latrine. Nobody does this and while it may be an embarrassing issue it is also needed out there in the middle of nowhere. It is also not just about going to the bathroom, there is teeth care, bathing, and other things one can do if no water is available or even with fresh water nearby. Only where there is saltwater also is something that some information may be helpful. I hope this helps! Love, Cat in Seattle

@@robertpotts7589 Oh my Lord, Robert. I do not need to see anything untoward from this nice young man (red cheeks)! LOL! I just want to see some ideas about this. For example, if I had to use the latrine in the middle of the night, how and where could it be so I would not A.Fall into it B. Be able to get to it fast C. how to leave a small footprint once I leave camp D. Not contaminate my camping area and E. Not attract animals to my camping area? In scouts, we did learn some of this however I have forgotten the details. But (no pun intended) that was over 60 years ago. Things may have and probably have changed. @@recall5811 - you are the top tube in my recommend from KZitem, they put you 8 recommends out of 10. But I haven't learned anything about camping or survival, bush craft. That I didn't already know. That's why I complemented your meal choices. But hey if you took it the wrong way, an got offended, then sorry and bye.

Holy Crap!! Were the Black eyed peas too healthy that you had to swing so far away as to eat a doughnut cheeseburger!?!? LOL!!! I've always thought fire pits made great cooking fires. Lot of work though, Usually don't dig them unless I am there for two days or more. Always loved the sounds in the woods in the early morning. You get the birds waking up and you still have the crickets working the end of the night shift. As always, Thank you for your teachings. Be Good and Be Safe!!
