I've stealth camped in England when I was homeless. I could probably run an army training course. Nothing beats experience and it becomes a state of mind, almost addictive. You almost breath invisible after a time. The birds are your early warning system too. You become one with the environment, almost soaking into it. Patience as well, always patience.

I've stealth camped when homeless too, don't see the addictiveness of it though. Got very good but I still remember the terror when I had to dry out my tent and probably retiree day hikers came across the side path where I had hung my tent up at. Had no other option, I mean, couldn't pack it back up soaked. But it was early dawn, 6 or 7 AM - I didn't expect anyone much less 4 startled older folks. More power to you but idk if I could do it again. Proud that I did when I needed to, but if those day hikers had gone back to their car and reported me to the cops, I might not be in the much better place I am now. Idk.

I live in Oregon. I am very familar with Tillamook. YOU pronounced the name correctly. Most people don't. Good for you Luke. Tillamook used to be known for it's cheese and had a cheese factory there, which I toured several times. Due to the economy they now ship much of their cheese products to Wisconsin to be packaged and re-ship back to OREGON, which puzzles most of us Oregonians. Tillamook is known for it's cows and dairy products--also other cottage industries. This area puts out many excellent food products and prides it self on using "all natural products" espcecially for export out of state. I am sure the company in Tillamook who produced that food packet will be proud to know you liked the food so much. I am glad Oregon is exporting excellent goods. Blessings from Oregon! PS: Based on your recommentdations: I purchased Nature Hike camp chairs, 2 of them, one for my Dad for Father's day and one for myself. Because we like things BIG for comfort, I went the next size up, even though weight wise we did not need it. I am glad we did--as the large chair is more comfortable. My Dad is 83 and I am 61. Bothh of us have hand and wrist problems, with tendonitis and arthritis. IT took us 30 minutes to stretch that canvas enough to be able to put those chairs together! THAT canvas is tough. WE are leaving the chairs put together for the picnic on Saturady--June 15, 2024 as we hope the canvas will stretch. Word to seniors buy8ng those chairs--it is really really hard to put those chairs together and if you have arthritis or tendonitis in your wrists or hands--YOU might need another person to help you. Sugestion Luke--you might warn people of this--I just thought it took a little muscle, which I have from weight lifting--NO it takes a lot of muscle! Thank you though as we love those chairs! June 12, 2024. Love the video!!

One thing you can do is get some lightweight camo netting and use it to further disguise your shelter. Also, a Dakota fire hole may let you have a fire without being seen, but it should only be lit after dark when the smoke will be much less visible, and never in a largely open area like you were in this video. Where you were, the smoke could be clearly seen by anyone in that overall clearing or on the trail. Were you in the woods, you would have had a much better chance.

Wild camping illegal in most of England, so stealth camping has become the norm, secret is to camp late and rise early, no bright coloured gear or fires, light load out, if a scenic spot, carry a camera and say you are a photographer, gives you reason to carry a pack, hammocks are good, as you can hide away in the tree line and you are more aware of what is going on around you, plus less likely to encounter livestock or farmers, issue for many places is finding somewhere to leave car overnight. Last trip out I discovered that mountain bikers go out after dark to hit the trails with powerful lights, luckily I had camped off the trail.

i love the gorka pants,i get crap for wearing those.but best gear i ever bought.the red cross on the tree means you cant camp there, they put those around homeless sights as sighn of eviction then you have 48 hours to legally clear out.

Wow, I would never have guessed you were a web designer! I figured you must have some job related to the outdoors/gear, maybe even had an online store? I guess you would have advertised it then though haha! Loved the adventure, see you next time Luke.

I live in Oregon - Tillamook has a CHEESE factory that makes a LOT of cheese for the country. Tillamook is on the coast - but other than the cheese factory (and ice cream) it's pretty tame.

I was hoping you would use a Coleman two-person pop up hoop tent.. or similar in one of your stealth camping adventures unfortunately the Coleman is bright green and white but perhaps it can be painted with camouflage paint to knock down the color..

Awesome video, the young cow this is a fog makes stealth camping easier because number one no one can see any great distance and two usually if there's fog and a little bit of rain or prediction of rain people tend to stay away !!

Maybe bring something like a drawing pad and a few pencils? you want the sunset golden hour to draw pictures of leaves or something.
