Good to get out Keitei. A decent barrier there to the midges. You had some nice treats there I have to say. And why not 10 days work flat - you deserve it. A lovely spot - great to see the heather out and the seasons changing. A question. How do you get 1,800 views in 1 day whilst unable to engage with and follow others amid a busy life? I mean it - I am curious. I've been here 10 years and never experienced growth like it. Any tips most welcome. Have a great week ahead. Mark

Cheers Mark, those midges were particularly keen, so I was happy I packed my tent. Thank you for KZitem growth question. I think a lot comes down to the thumbnail, IMO - if it's clear, relates to the video well ( viewers get what they're expecting) and is an action shot of the KZitemr, I find I usually get more views but not always so it is hit and miss. Releasing the video is important and I find evenings work well. KZitem alongside a full time isn't always easy and I do sometimes miss weekly uploads but try and remind myself it is quality over quantity. Thank you for the watch and all the best for the week :)

Yo Keitei V...another great wild camp video. I always marvel at you leaving your camera and having to go back and forth to get it so we get a great video! The bit at the end was great. The mist/fog in the morning was so nice. Recently I've had to head out early for my run and when I get near the river I just love how the mist hovers over it and it all feels special knowing it's just me and a moment in time with nature. The only thing good about the cooler weather is you get the woolly hat back on! (I have to check out your 100,000 Steps video....I can't remember seeing it) I agree with your 9/10....what a great location and great you endured the various bugs! Peace!

Thank you for sayin Mookie :) It was a lovely place to camp, I may go back there in winter ❄️ Yes, the fog was particularly mystical and gave the place a different feeling in the morning. It's a great feeling when it's just you and nature :)

Hi Keïteï, Plenty of people below have commented on the midges, and there are lots of comments on KZitem about how good the heather is this year but you are the first to comment on Jaffa tea!! Sounds like it isn't going to become a favourite. I’ve also notices that you seem to be able to get away without carrying an inflatable mattress even if you are sleeping on rock like in the Robin Hood cane, don’t know how you manage that I wouldn’t sleep a wink. You asked about temperature monitoring, plenty of battery-operated LCD devices out there (eBay), but there is also “Weather Underground”. I sent my original response at about 6pm but KZitem deleted is because of the link I included. This time I’ve omitted it, I’m sure you will be able to work out how to get to it from the title, if not let me know how to send you a live link. Simply use the map to pan to the area of interest and pick a reliable station like a school, business, or airport etc. You can look backwards so if you went on a camp in March just select that area/date. You can select between graph and data, the latter you can extract and dump into Excel if you are a data nerd. Cheers Graham

Hi Graham, I vary between my foam mat (just got a new one :D ) and my inflatable air mattress, it nice to have to the choice but yes I am skilled at sleeping anywhere. Thank you for the ideas for taking temperature readings, I have a few options now so will look into before my future wild camps - especially as winter rolls in. Have a good day :)

Hi Keitei, great film thanks! I did a wild camp up here in the highlands on Thursday. Perfect spot. Set up on a hill with great views. Just finished my tea and was watching some beautiful fallow does and the breeze dropped off and the midges descended with a vengeance!! Managed another hour of wildlife watching before I had to retreat to the hammock (with bug net) .

don't mean to a the bearer of bad news, but unless you're Gas Safe registered, I wouldn't be touching the gas. Why? Do you have the tools required to test the line for tightness (leaks) and safety? Unfortunately, lots of nasty things happen each year due to DIY gas fitting. Do you know someone who is Gas Safe registered? I am, I would, at the very least, test it for tightness. If it is LPG, it doesn't rise so any leak will be very dangerous as it will flood the ground until a spark hits and then, up in flames your work goes 😞 Please, get a gas safe registered engineer out to at least test the line and make sure it's safe. Should cost £50-60
