The night of Feb 12th, Environment Canada issued an extreme cold weather warning for Ontario. I knew it was going to be a cold night but had no idea just how cold. The temperature dropped to -25°C / -13°F by far the coldest I have ever slept outside. This is the furthest I will push my current sleeping system as it was a really rough night and I kinda woke up an ice cube. All in all, it was still a fun trip with some valuable experience gained.
Sleeping System:
Mec Talon Winter Sleeping Bag: Rated to -10°C / 14 °F
Mec Talon Sumer Sleeping Bag: Rated to +5°C / 41 °F
Sea to Summit Fleece Reactor Liner: Adds up to 18°C / 32°F of warmth (in ideal conditions)
Big Agnes Insulated Air Cord Sleeping Pad: R4.5
Nemo Sleeping Pad: R2
