It is finally here, an affordable HDMI 2.1 matrix. If you have a combination of two TVs/Monitors/Projectors that support 4K120 and you want to use both with two consoles, PCs, or a combination - THIS IS THE ANSWER! This 2x2 matrix allows you to show one input on both displays or mix and match your two inputs on both displays. No more cable swapping! This matrix does not upscale or downscale, so if you want to mirror a source on both displays and they both do not support the same resolutions / refresh rates, the signal passed to both will be the lowest standard supported on both. (It will not pass 4k120 to a television and 4K60 to another display or capture card.) PS5 / XBOX Series X S - VRR, 4K120, ATMOS, DTS....

Is there a trick to being able to switch between a Series X and a PS5 on the same display? For whatever reason it's not detecting the Xbox when the PS5 is connected. When I unplug the PS5, it will detect it. I don't get it. My monitor and cables are all up to snuff for the record (display is a Sony Inzone M9, which does 4K/144/HDR/VRR/etc.). Thanks.

Yes, while I couldn’t test all combinations, I was able to use 1440p120 vrr and dts over HDMI 2.0 with a monitor / soundbar that support it over HDMI 2.0. Generally, if it works without the matrix, it will work with this matrix.

Hi! Sorry for the long post! I have a Samsung Q95T. I also have a Samsung HW-Q960A soundbar. I want to use my PS5 and Xbox Series X in the HDMI 2.1 port (for 4K 120Hz support, and 4K 40fps support on PS5). The audio would go through eARC to the soundbar. An HDMI switch would be the obvious solution. However, selecting Dolby or DTS as audio output on either console adds a delay and only LPCM is without delay. Unfortunately, Samsung TV's down mix multi-channel LPCM to stereo before passing it on to the soundbar. And since the soundbar doesn't have 4K 120Hz support, it's not an option (though the soundbar supports multi-channel LPCM so there's no audio delay when connected directly, but instead you get minimized VRR window, no 40fps support and no 4K120 support). So in order to get latency-free audio and 4K 120Hz for both consoles I would need a product that does the following: - Have two 48Gbit HDMI inputs (40Gbit might be OK for XSX and PS5) - Have a 48Gbit HDMI output for image - Have an HDMI audio output - Support automatic switching between the two devices - Support 4K 120Hz at the same time as HDMI audio output (I've seen ones that are limited to optical when using 4K 120Hz) - Support HDR - Support VRR - Support CEC These are very specific requirements but they are all important in order for everything to properly work. You seem very knowledgable so I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask. Maybe even the BK-202A has everything I need, but I'd like to have that confirmed before ordering one to the other side of the Atlantic. Thanks for your time! Edit: I just read on their Amazon page that it doesn't extract audio via HDMI at all, so it won't work for me. That's very unfortunate!

Hi there! I have a different television and sound bar, but this is how I was able to get 4K120 and VRR on my display and ATMOS on my sound bar using HDMI. XBOX to input 1 (could also connect PS5 to the other input). Display connected to output 1 and sound bar connected to output 2. Now the key, I set the EDID on the BK-202A to the 8K/4K120/HDR/7.1 mode instead of “copy” mode and set both outputs to "input 1.". This way the XBOX doesn’t read the output options from the display or sound bar but instead from the BK-202A. All options (4K120, HDR, VRR and ATMOS) are available on the XBOX menu and audio/video are in sync without added latency. Auto input switching will not be available with both XBOX and PS5 connected. Optical extraction works as well, but is not required in my case. This is my experience and I have tried a few displays and sound bars - all working, but I can’t be certain every combination will work. There should be a good chance though as EDID is coming from the BK-202A and not the display or sound bar. I hope this helps out.

Hey there I've got a question and I'm wondering if you can help me with a work around. My setup is a 55" 1080p Samsung UN50J6300 (2015) 32" 4K 144hz Dell G3223Q (2022) Xbox Series X 14" 120Hz Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 (2020) I purchased the BK-202A to replace my Orei UHD-PRO102 because I upgraded to a new 4K monitor and wanted to play in 4k 120hz. I didn't realize that the BK-202A doesn't have auto scaling like my UHD-PRO102 does. This allowed me to have one monitor at 4k 60hz and one at 1080p 60hz. Is there a way for me to use this BK-202A so I can have 4K 120hz on my one monitor and 1080p on my TV still? Or am I out of luck since there is no scaling? Thanks in advance, cheers brother
@askdrtk

Unfortunately scaling with HDMI 2.1 specs (4K120) is not yet widely available…the 202A is not going to be able to get that down. The only reliable option I am currently aware of is the HDFury VRRoom (which is around $500 usd last time I checked). The same issue happened with HDMI 2.0 a few years ago, so I believe we will begin to see a few more affordable options this year that support 4k120 and scaling. Hope this helps out!

I have a question for Xbox and this device, does this help with at all with the audio delay that Xbox and Samsung TVs have with Dolby Digital? I know it's a big problem and I've been trying to find a fix. Some people say audio extractors help massively reduce the issue(not fully fix) so I'm interested to see Orei devices to see if they help. I don't see anyone talking about these devices for Series X, so I was wondering if you can help. PS5 doesn't have this issue, but I enjoy playing on my Series X more.
@askdrtk
Жыл бұрын
Great question! Yes, extractors have their own “decode’ chip which essentially replaces the need for the TV to deal with the decode. Depending on how they are built, some TVs decode the audio coming in and then re-encode it going back out - they causes audio delay. I cannot be certain, but I believe audio bitrate could be the difference between Series X and PS5. Not all extractors are the same, but I find the decoder in the 202A to be very fast and I don’t have audio lag issues with my Series X, Q70T, and Denon receiver. Hope this helps out!

What does this do better or different from the BK-22? I am using a BK-22 to split my Apple 4k TV output into dedicated HDMI outputs into a Sony 95k TV and a Audio Processor. Everything seems to work great with default audio switches. What am I lacking. Other than the remote control (which is not in the box)?

The only difference is the BK-202A allows you to individually assign either input to either output (matrix instead of a switch and splitter combo). This would be useful if you wanted to add a second source (game console, PC, etc), but otherwise there is no reason for you move to the 202A. Hope this helps out!

Hey so I got this product and I noticed a slight issue and was curious if you had any insight on why this might be occuring. Input 1 = PS5 Input 2 = Nintendo Switch Output 1 = TV (S95B) Output 2 = 4k60Pro MKII EDID is 111 When I have Output 1 running Input 1 everything is fine as long as output 2 is also running input 1 But when I switch output 2 to input 2, Output 1 starts having white flickering. The flickering even occurs when there is nothing plugged into Output 2. However when I switch the outputs around by making the TV output 2 and the 4k60pro Output 1 the problem is resolved. I was curious why this is happening. It's not a big deal since I resolved it by swapping the cables around but should I return the product and get a new one due to this possibly being defective?

Sorry for the delay in responding, but I wanted to try to replicate what is happening with my 4k60Pro mkii and Q70T. I did not have the same issue. I would recommend first trying EDID set to 011 and 000 in the configurations where you are getting the flickering. If that does not make a difference, try a different cable between the matrix and TV when using Output 1 only. If neither of these works, you may have a defective matrix.

The 202a supports all modes you have mentioned for both monitors but it is not a scaler and therefore will output the lower common available resolution and refresh rate of the two when both are connected. So you will get 1080p144 as long as your laptop’s graphics card supports 144 on HDMI out when you use both at the same time, whereas you could go up to 240 when using only the Samsung as long as that is supported by your laptop’s graphics card. Hope this helps out!

Yes, I have the same issue. I have a 4k60 mkii and Cam Link Pro. The AC-MX-42X will do exactly that. Input 4K VRR, Output 1 - 4K VRR and Output 2 - 1080p60 (or even 4K60). This issue is that HDMI 2.1 scalers have been slow in coming and so anything available that actually works is expensive (this solution is $1200usd). We had similar issues when HDMI 2.0 was released and now scalers and switches are affordable. I have a friend that has one of these in a high end gaming "theatre" and does what we are talking about, but I can't recommend this unless cost is not important (I would wait a bit longer as affordable options will likely appear in the next six months). The only remotely affordable option right now to game in VRR and capture would be the Avermedia Live Gamer Extreme 3, and maxing out at 1440p120 VRR, it isn't what we are looking for, but it is VRR play at 1440p120 and capture at 1440p or 1080p60 for $130USD... Hope this helps out. For now, I will be waiting for a more affordable solution to 4K VRR and 4K60 capture.

As I indicated in the description, it solves the need for an affordable option to share two 4k120 displays (TV and projector in my case) with two consoles/PCs without having to swap cables allowing either input to be displayed on both outputs or any combination of each input on either output (matrix). The VRROOM is a more capable device, but it is also 4x the price of the BK-202A. Beyond the VRROOM, another option to solve 4K120 on one display while downscaling a second output to 4K60 (and other resolutions) is the AC-SC-1X form AVPro Edge. www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1730084-REG/avpro_edge_ac_sc_1x_40gbps_8k_hdmi.html If we want to take things a step further with a 4x2 matrix that supports independent upscaling and downscaling across all HDMI 2.1 supported resolutions including VRR and audio formats on each output from multiple input sources plus audio extraction, the AC-MX-42X from AVPro Edge at $1200 USD is an option www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1660468-REG/avpro_edge_ac_mx_42x_40gbps_8k60_4x2_hdmi.html Hopefully more options with up and downscaling plus audio extraction will be available soon.
