Problem solving the cause of Samsung boot issues for stock ROM firmware.
I'm still getting a lot of phones coming to me that only require a reset or new battery..
Here I try to help you save a little time and money.
What's your phone doing?
Does it try to start at all or is it completely dead?
If it's trying to start;
and gets past the battery loading onto the Samsung logo.. then it is most likely a software issue and can easily be resolved by doing a hard reset.
On most Samsung phones and tabs this is done by holding both the volume up and home button in at the same time and then keeping them held while pushing the power button.
Keep all THREE buttons depressed until you either see blue writing in the top left of the screen or the android picture (whichever appears first) and then let go of the power button.
Once Once in recovery mode;
Use the volume rocker to toggle up or down and the power button to enter and carry out a factory reset.
Use the same buttons to confirm this action and the phone should reboot as normal.
If it doesn't start;
or it loops on the battery symbol, Start by checking the charge port for dirt and/or debris. Then your charge lead, It may not be supplying the power that is needed to boot the phone. Next check the contact between the two. Gently lift the contact slightly upward inside the port at the bottom of the phone (ensure that your battery is removed when you do this).
If it still isn't working you will need to replace the battery and then the charge port if the new battery is unsuccessful.
Finally, should all of the above fail and you are certain that your ROM is Stock and not custom... It will be a dead board. Most likely from a failed IC chip or from water damage causing corrosion to the boards components.
I hope this helps some of you.
