Nice to meet you William! I had already found and ordered a manual after trying to get my boss's 474 going for him. Getting this going will really help me out. I got it as far in the sequences as the album drops but the stylus doesn't lift and drop the needle so where I left off the turntable is just spinning and I can't do anything else.

Thank you for posting this video. Any suggestions as to what I should check when the selector works sometimes but not continuously? Might have to select the same numbers 3 or 4 times for the selection to be played and other times it might work on the first try.

What is the difference between glass diode and silicon diode.? Does glass withstand morem heat? I really enjoy your videos. I am working on a 454 and trying to get it going. Do you ever take phone calls to discuss problems in detail? Thanks for all your work. Larry

Thanks for your amazing video's. I have a 45730 in a 444. I disconnected the speakers whilst it was playing and it didn't like it. Now its distorted on both channels. On checking the o/p transistors they appear to be faulty with resistance showing between collector and emitter. I am in the uk. can you suggest cheap equivalent transistors? I have read I may need to modify the base resistor value and obv set up the bias.I am an ext TV engineers but been off the tools 30 years so a bit rusty;) Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Actually just checked its a 47760 1a, I was going by the manual. Incidentally when it was working the mute relay doesn't work. - it appears to be missing a -33v line. It just goes to an empty connector, I see in the comments below this is not unusual if swapping out boards. I am tempted to connect it up?

Great video.. quick question.. I have a Rock-Ola 448, amp is 45730-A, can I use a Rock-Ola amp 47160-A, many thanks David

Yes....the 47160 is the amp that was originally in the 448-451. The 45730 also will work but was for the 442 and 444 models. You can also use a 47160 in a 442 and 444 but the mute relay will not work.........

Hello!! Im restoring a 1981 rockola max 2 and your videos have taught me so much so far! Im having an issue i cant figure out. The profit setter shows the correct number, the magazine rotates and as that happens the selection goes away and random numbers show until the magazine goes to the home spot. 1 rotation for 100’s and 3 rotations for 200’s. Any thoughts are super helpful!

I only buy and fix Rockolas 436-470. The newer Rockolas are not as easy to fix and I avoid them. Maybe post on the FB Rockola Jukebox Club group with your problem.

@@williamweisel2176 ah bummer. After some tests Ive found out the credit unit knows where the magazine is at, but it doesnt tell the magazine where to stop for the arm to kick in. Any thoughts on that?

Once i manually turn the arm, the magazine stops instantly and the credit unit displays the stopped number.

Hello! The main problem I’m having with my Rockola 448 is that I have to keep the third digit pressed down until the write in selects the song, what do I need to do to fix it so I don’t have to keep the third digit pressed down, Thankyou!

Another problem I’m having now is my 448 worked great the last time I used it last week, I went to go plug it in and everything powered on fine but I went to select a three digit song number and when I selected the third digit the write in relay just “clicks” Everytime I press third digit

These are the thorny issues. I need to know if when you press the second digit (0-9), does the keyboard solenoid activate and stay activated (contracted)? If not, will it activate if you select another number for the 2nd Digit? Does the 2nd digit light come on? In other words, the 2nd digit sets the stage for the third digit to stay in on it's own. You will need to release the keyboard assembly inside and rotate the keyboard up to see what's going on. My hunch is that I will have to send you a video as I currently have a 448 in my garage. This would be better viewed if I could send it to you on FB messenger. How can I find you on FB?
