Received mine yesterday. While just feeling around the box to see what moves, I noticed I could feel a click when moving the sliders on the bottom of the box when they correctly connected to the front locking mechanism. By doing this, I was able to remove the front locking mechanism and retrieve the smaller puzzle without solving anything. 🙁

I found your video after opening the box and wondering if I'd missed something. I reached the same conclusion regarding the sliding tiles, and also had issues with some parts spontaneously disassembling. I actually solved the sliding bars just by feeling for snag points because it was easier than figuring out if there was some correct orientation of the gears. I should point out that there is nothing to indicate which way is "up" on the face with the gears, so there could be multiple interpretations of reading them with no way of knowing which is correct. Your box had a doorway/key symbol on it indicating orientation to the left of the gears, but mine had a personalization message which was rotated 90 degrees, adding to my confusion. I've spent the last hour disassembling loose parts and gluing them together so I can at least display the box without it falling apart when someone picks it up to examine it. The gear knob (with the mysterious IP ADRESS text, the inner box containing the cylinder, and the top were already apart when my box arrived or fell apart easily on manipulation. The key seems to contain a very weak magnet strip on the back so I suppose it is meant to be displayed on one's refrigerator. The oculus mechanism was both the best-constructed part of the entire box and sadly unnecessary.

Where can I get that puzzle box

Received mine through Kickstarter, after quite some time. Apparently, it was shipped from or through Ukraine, so there's that. The box indeed felt clunky and faulty, so I had to completely disassemble and glue/attach all parts, as it was falling apart. Not worth the price tag. PS : The little cog that you found in the upper part is used as a tool, in order to turn the numeric cogs on the second side, so ideally it should ve been detected before working on that. Just saying.

Yikes. That's a shame. Sturdiness aside I'd be mortified if I made a puzzle that was that easily bypassed. If you ever want to talk about decent puzzles, give me a shout over on the Mechanical Puzzles Discord.

Aw, thankyou for the offer! I have hopped in there a few times, but I don't really "get" Discord - I use it for participation in one-off events, puzzlehunts etc. but for casual ongoing chats I prefer the Facebook puzzle groups. I'll definitely consider it if I try again in the future though :)

Still nothing received and no news from them. I feel like I will never get anything. Like many of us in my opinion. I write to them on Kickstarter and on their website but no response. A nice scam.

That’s disappointing. I have a huntaclue box on route to me now. :(

Your experience may differ! (and I really hope it does). I've had my box for a few weeks, so it must have been one of the earliest - with any luck there might have been some teething problems in production that have since been ironed out (fingers crossed). Do let me know how you find it though.

@@PuzzlePieces Got my box in and immediately sighed. When i opened the box, the lid that had the number sliders was not connected so all the pieces were scattered all around the box. Once i got that situated, i turned the box over, and pieces started dropping out of it from the side that looks like a safe. Not a good start as i haven't even tried to solve it yet and i've already had to reassemble it twice.
