It’s like BMD is actually studying Avid, Premiere Pro and FCPX and taking the best features of each. I have used all three and I’m considering Resolve again (tried the editing when it was new in v12 but not since)

A lot of why I like this program so much is just in the interface alone. So so so so much more user friendly than most other programs. One thing I love a whole lot is to do a fade to or from black, all you have to do is pinch the corner of the clip on the timeline and move it in. That's it. Whereas in Premiere, you have to locate the dip to black in the video transition tab and drag it over the clip and manage it there. No thanks. Resolve all the way

I couldn't agree more about the curve editor in Premiere. Awful.

I love Resolve for everything besides dealing with interlaced material(it's got better but still not there) and it's reinterpreting of framerate. It never get's the audio right.

I first started with Premiere long before PRO it was version 4.2 (The White Horse) on the cover of the manual, Back when software came with MANUALS. Anyway this was October of 1996. I stopped using PP in 2018. GREAT TUTORIAL Thanks. But you taught me something about KEY FRAMES that I probably heard but never understood just ALT Click to place a key frain instead of using the Inspector witch I find to be a PITA. Thanks. now Do you have anything on producing Surround Sound (5.1) especially.

5.1 would be fun to talk about. Any ideas of things you'd want to know more about or should I just jump in with some basics tutorials? -Theo

@@Miesnermedia I try to make videos on Remote Control Model airplanes And think it might be neat to have Sound come from behind you like you were looking down a runway facing left and the plane comes from the right behind you. Any way I have been playing with t for over a year and understand very little. The big thing I don't understand is the FairLight Buss Format & Bus Assign. Either in DR 16.2 or DR 17.1.1 since they completely changed it. I guess a diagram of the THEORY of how Format Assignments work would be really helpful. i.e. where do you send the different audio , Why and how you make a video that can be played on anything from simple laptop speakers to the latest Atmos 7.1.4 Sound bars. Thanks for asking.

That's a great idea! It may be a while before I get around to it because I'm still going pretty hard on the editing course, but once that's done and I've babysat it for a while, I'll definitely look in to that. -Theo

The answer to the next question is "Affinity Photo" and of course Fusion. I had a year with Adobe cloud and a copy of "Affinity Photo" I forced myself to use Affinity for graphics and photo stuff and not just open Photoshop and work as usual. At one point, I realized that I was no longer making that decision by force and would just go into Affinity and start working. Canceled Adobe sub, the next year. Haven't missed it all .

The edit page spline editor isn't great. Like for position it's domain is broken af. However having the Spline editor on the Fusion page, is the real trick.

I always look forward to learning from your tutorials. I jettisoned Adobe about a year and a half ago and have never regreted it. I've recently upgraded to DaVinci Studio when Blackmagic bundled its speed editor with it. I'll look forward to your DaVinci Resolve training class.

Are you going to have tutorials on the Cut page and the tools like Close Up and Zoom in your course?

So you just found DaVinci and decided you are an expert and want to teach others, even though you are currently still using Premiere pro. A shame.
