Anyone who is fortunate enough to own one of Sandy's knives or who has followed 'Jackloreknives' on KZitem for some time will appreciate the amount of time, effort and craftsmanship that goes into producing these works of art. I've been lucky and treasure mine.

Jack I tottaly understand your work situation had the same problem with sheaths . I had a large number of mid and low range knives I had collected over the years I love these knives all good and stout all what is classfied now as junk steel but there not . So any way my knives as you know in all cases the sheaths are crap so after retiring I started teaching my self how to build sheath and get the stitching propper . That is when a friend sugested I look on you tube for help .that is when I found Lee he guided me through the whole process I really miss the kidd. After I got going some friends wanted me to do some repairs will lets just say it got out of hand . Like you I found my self at 70 staying up late at night trying to meet dedlines for sheaths working 7 days a week after a few years of this I said the hell with it at 81 now And with no time for anything other than taking care of the better half who has Dementia now I can relate to your problem . Happy Trails

I’m surprised with all the so called “knife crime” occurring in the UK that the “state” hasn’t come in ,confiscated your whole shop and thrown you in jail for making weapons of mass destruction. THAT SAID YOU MAKE A FUNCTIONAL WORK OF ART. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!! It’s too bad that you don’t post overseas to the US. SSgt B

I always make sure to catch your vids. It may take me a while, but I get there in the end... Just like life really 😀😀😀 Today/tomorrow check your f'book pm's. I will be sending you a thought as soon as I get five mins. For a retiree it is amazing how damn busy my days can get... Oddly, I rarely make the arrangements for myself , nor are they usually made by me for my own benefit ... Odd how easily the transition from proper , working, Boss to total proper-Serf can be made... Funny old life innit ... Too damn soft, that's my trouble . Mind you, not sure how I feel about this knife'ist prejudice against prior buyers. That, 'me bonny lad', could be classed as blade apartheid, blatant 'knifeism' even... Oooooh Sandy lad, human rights case there flowering shrub. 😃😃😃 As for vids, you do what you can. As you say youtube stopped being a serious enough earner to demand more from folk. The owners do not seem to realise it is the time, skills and resources of folk like you they steal when they reduce your level of remuneration. Every ha'penny of profit they make they rip off from the uploaders who create the appeal to advertisers and their revenues... Oh ... that got long ... sorry mate ... Be well ...

Great work I was wondering if you ever have trouble with your wood shrinking slightly making the steel stand proud of the scales some. I use stabilized wood also and a few of mine have shrinkage I wonder if there is a way to avoid this. Thsnks
@WiltshireMan
4 ай бұрын
If properly stabilised then it shouldn't move much but some woods can be difficult to stabilise like English yew etc. Best thing is to leave the knife for a while and it's possible as the climate changes then the handle could well go back to its original size, then I would seal it with some hardening linseed or equivalent.

You do great work. I've heard about your knives for years. I'd be honored to own and use one. all the knife makers are going through issues with materials and post. I've been waiting for about a year fro a preorder from Bark River through DLT. I'm getting a knife from Origin knives and his solution to the posting issue is that customers will issue a pick up from UPS or Fedex. Kinda brilliant solution. Cute dogs!

Lovely knives as per usual Sandy, no overseas postage will give those English buyers here in Britain a much better chance of purchasing one your knives now, I've noticed over the year's that there are several foreigners that like to purchase more than one of your heirlooms making it more difficult for others here. I sold my Jacklore to a fellow countryman who had been on the waiting/wanting list for year's, yes I do regret selling it but hey ho. All the best to you and Mandy mate.

Very beautiful knives, you actually have raised the bar to such a point that it’s beyond reach for most people. Think about the actual functions required by knives in a survival or camping / bushcraft activity. Many lesser quality knives can accomplish the task and do it well but this knife goes beyond that status to the point of it being a collectors piece. Such a beautiful piece that will just sit in someone’s cabinet.
