Amtrak PO 82 northbound arrives in Sanford, Florida on
a sunny February 6, 1982 to pick up passengers and take on fuel. This might have been a crew change point back then also. While waiting for the train to depart the camera pans across the tracks looking west from the station
which was recently torn down. We are treated to a view
of various structures and buildings that are now gone and a wide array of passenger equipment.
Looks like there's every thing but Milwaukee Roads Dell Rapids (oops there it is at about the 2:21 mark into the video). Panning across the tracks and looking to the north of the station there's even more passenger cars.
Wouldn't be surprised if a pair of cabooses painted
in Autotrain colors shows up (at 1:57).
As I remember there was quite a long time span from the
end of the original auto train and the start up of the Amtrak Autotrain. This video reflects those between years.
