Looks great. Thanks for the tutorials about leveling vs sloping and making sure to check for crowns/humps and such. Nice tribute at the end. This is the song that popped in my head after I heard the news and went to post on Facebook yesterday morning. Seemed like it was/is fitting. Cheers to you, Jimmy, 'til we meet again. "Headin' out to San Francisco For the Labor Day weekend show. I got my Hush Puppies on, I guess I never was meant for glitter rock 'n roll. And honey, I didn't know that I'd be missin' you so, Come Monday, it'll be alright. Come Monday, I'll be holdin' you tight. I spent four lonely days in a brown L.A. haze, And I just want you back by my side."

I love that song as much too. Hearing Buffett songs instantly makes me think of vacation with family. Sad to think he's gone now. I struggled between using "Margaritaville" or "Come Monday". Especially since it was Labor Day weekend. Went with Margaritaville just cause the intro is so recognizable to most and I thought if I kept it under 10 seconds I wouldn't get demonitized. But alas, they caught it anyway so I had to edit the ending out and now anyone watching won't know what the Buffett comments are about! :)

When I was maybe 6 or 7, I remember picking a few thousand rocks out of the topsoil when we turned an overgrown field into lawn. Good times!! The couple times I buried a pipe like that, I think the concrete above the pipe cracked every time.

First of all… there is no greater salute to the meaning of Labor Day than to relax after spending a hard week sweating over a job! Second, celebrating the life of the man that defined ‘relaxation’ is a perfectly fitting tribute! My buddy Brandon, of Elite Earthworks, is a master at finish grading. His father started him out as a teen in his landscaping business. He has hundreds of videos on finishing landscapes. What you did is pretty much on track with how he does it. ✔️Filling and packing to just below the concrete. ✔️Flat grading to slope away from the sidewalk. ✔️ Hand raking the edge. ✔️ Blowing off the concrete to finish. The only thing left is seed, straw and water… perfectly timed to be grown-in before winter. (Had you done this last month, you’d be running sprinklers daily.) You got this perfectly man… Niice!

What a fantastic piece of property you have there, the look of the pond changed everything, I can see the proper grade will move all the water away, so you won`t have any water going under the cement work and have concrete damage later from erosion, when you seed and get grass you will have no problem with soil washout from heavy rains, and changing your grade, it looks fantastic.
