That is a common error, John Barry took a part of the orchestral composition from the great Russian Sergei Rachmaninov composer who died sometime in the early 1940's. Go on you tube and search for "Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, Op.43". The entire piece is about 30 minutes long. Gotta give credit where credit is really due, especially for such a beautiful piece of music.

Wow. I just wanted you to know that I burst into tears once the violin started to play. I've been playing this song on the piano (along with the accompanying Rachmaninoff piece) for years. I played the violin all thru my childhood into young adulthood.....and recently picked it up again after 20 years....but have no time to practice. Perhaps your lovely performance of one of my favorite songs will inspire me to rosin up my bow. Thank you for your lovely performance. : )

My dearest Debbie, If I could only play this, on any instrument, half as good as these two, I would be in seventh heaven. The ability to play, not to mention how this music moves me would should be motivation for you to play this every day. It’s not just the music, but the theme behind the movie, that there IS someone out there for whom we have everlasting and total love which spans eternity. I wish for you an eternity of sunshine and love.

Lovely arrangement! I have been a fan of John Barry's music since I was 9 yrs old in the days of the John Barry Seven. Loved all of his music, but if I was stuck on a deserted island and allowed only one piece of music, 'Somewhere in Time' would be that piece. Whenever I sit down to play the piano, I always play this at some point. The solo violinist is a nice compliment.
