Jeanne Stephenson, it is the ultimate wish fulfilment. Looking at Jane Seymour's breathtakingly sweet face in the portrait on the wall, I could see just this response. 😥 I would want something very much like this; the details would be different, of course. It makes me cry that I am stuck in this time (2022, as I type this), wishing for--begging God for!--the life I would have loved to have had. Talents untrained because of suffocating poverty from multiple physical disabilities. No one to have loved, or to have loved me back. 🥰 😥 I have similar feelings as you when watching the Mirror of Erised scene in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001, Warner Bros, Chris Columbus, John Williams), imagining before me my lifelong love . . . . 😭

If you have been in love with someone special in your life and it didn't work out, you are able to relate to this particular scenes of the movie. I have experienced it with numbness, pain , and suffering from emotional attachment that my heart aches and pains that have wanted to go away. We take chances in life. We take risks to challenges ourselves knowing that it might not work Richard Collier who played by the late Christopher Reeves knew that time travel back in another time and place that we are not capable of achieving but only happened in a movie. Yet, we can relate to this tragic event at the end of the movie. It goes to show that love is hard to find and it is never guaranteed that it will be lasting forever. A moment of love can change our attitude entirely but when it that moment of love is vanished. It is one of the most painful experience that we have endured.

I remember many years ago, flipping through the channels on cable and I came across this movie. I started watching it. I had a crush on Christopher Reeve. I loved it when he would say something funny or do something funny in the movie. The thing that made me sad was the music. The ending of the movie, well, it wrecked me. My Mom was sitting on the couch reading, and I got up and started to leave the Living Room. She asked where I was going and I said I was done watching TV. She said okay. I'm pretty sure I confused her. I was watching some shows then I start watching this movie, then I all of a sudden start to leave the room. I held myself together till I got to my bedroom. I closed the door went over to the window, looked up into the sky, and proceeded to cry until I had a headache. I knew it was a movie, but Christopher's performance was real to me. I felt like that he had really died. This was maybe 1988 or 1989. I knew that Christopher Reeve was still alive. But if I could have seen into the future, and could have known how he would end up, I don't know what shape I would've been in today. This music from this movie haunts me. It is so moving, and sad, filled with raw emotion. I still can't believe that Christopher Reeve died 14 years ago. I never would have thought that would happen to him. There's no reason why he still should not be alive. Even though I love horses, I blamed the horse he was riding on. I couldn't believe that Christopher was paralyzed. I thought maybe the news was wrong. Then....years later, Christopher Reeve died. It has shattered me. I like watching his movies, but they just remind me that he's not with us anymore. Life is just so unpredictable. We could be extremely careful and play it safe our whole life, and still something might happen. Christopher Reeve said in one of his books, that he was a risk-taker. One who lived life on the edge. If he had a close call, he would step back and take it easy. But that wouldn't last long. He even fell off a horse once before and did a somersault over the horse's head and landed on his knees. I'm just at a loss for what else to say. This beautiful, intelligent, smart, elegant, charming, witty, tall, dark and handsome guy is gone. I miss him so much. Well, I'll close this chapter of my book now 😐.

Apples-Girl I am not a writer. But I do sit and write about things. Personal things, funny things...mostly anything. Did you read my other comment about my Mother and Father? Their marriage is what love is all about. Looking out for each other. Helping one another. My Dad (through the suggestion of a friend) kept a journal about my Mom. It devastated my Dad when my Mom had to be put in the Nursing Home, and then 9 years later, in 2012, she passed away. He was never the same. He would sit and look at her pictures for hours it seemed, reminiscing about days and years gone by. He would cry. There was nothing I could say or do to take away his pain. He passed away in 2014, 1 day after Christmas. I was in his room the night he was leaving this world. I had never seen anyone pass away. I remember years ago, we were at the Hospital when my Grandfather (my Mother's Dad) was dying. I got to tell him that I loved him. Then she wanted me to leave the room. My Mother's Sister and Brother were in there telling him their last goodbyes as he was leaving this world. She wasn't here to shield me from witnessing my Dad dying. But I wouldn't change a thing. I got to spend the last moments of my Dad's life with him. Don't matter how many years go by, the pain never goes away or gets easier. Sure there are days when I'm caught up in daily living and driving the kids to their friends' house or a doctor's appt or shopping or going to the library. It's when it's quiet and the kids are in bed that I sit and stare at my parents pictures and cry. Life comes full circle. It will continue this way while we're alive and long after we've passed from this earthly plain. Sorry for my extremely long reply. I do like to write but sometimes I get carried away. The words just start flowing.

This scene gets me every time I watch it. When Richard cries on the bed and says, “no”, and then drops the culprit 1979 coin, you only have to really feel for the man. Who says men don’t cry? It’s such a moving scene! 💔

You can never go back. It's just the way it is. That is what makes a man mature. Sadness is what makes us..

Thank God in real life, you can heal from heartbreak and learn to move on without them, and perhaps meet someone else better suited for you.
