I wonder where the dirty water from the bathroom and from the toilet in these houses is poured? Or is there no bathroom and toilet there? I don't see any pipes coming out of the houses. And the water in the sea is salty, I don't believe they don't bathe with plain water after swimming in the sea. Where do they pee and shit? Where is the soapy water from the bathroom poured? I don't see any pipes. I don't see any wires either. I don't care about solar panels either. So there is no electricity in these houses.

Being 70 years old, I will never see all these places, as I am on a fixed income. So these videos allow me to take numerous mental vacations. I do travel to Turkey to visit my son and my Turkish daughter in law. I wish my favorite “Luxury Travel Expert” would visit some of the tropical paradises in Turkey. I never knew they had such beautiful resorts there. We will be visiting Antalya. However, I would prefer visiting a resort area less crowded. Also a question I want to ask the “Luxury Travel Expert”? If you only had one place to pick to live, where would you go? Thank you so much for these beautiful videos. I share your videos all the time with my friends. I just returned from a trip to Maldives. I flew Emirate’s business class and the round-trip ticket for me alone was just $4700 with added insurance that brought the ticket price to $5500 (including tax and business class lounge in JFK & DUBAI). When people think of Maldives, Soneva Fushi and Soneva Jani is what they imagine in their mind because those are the photos and videos that they’ve seen on Facebook and Instagram. The beaches in the Maldives are virtually all the same: you have white sand, clear water and marine life everywhere that you can record videos and pictures of. The real difference between the resorts is the level of service and the variety of food. Soneva Fushi and Soneva Jani cost between $1000 and $20,000 per night depending on the size of your villa. There are some resorts that are less expensive but these two are top-tier in Maldives. Perhaps even in the world - I’ve been to Seychelles but I haven’t been to Bora-Bora yet. I would say the smartest thing for couples to do is to come here for the weekend and just stay a night or two unless they get a really good rate and want to spend a longer time here. Once you’ve stayed here for a weekend you may start to get bored. You can return to Male and stay in a regular hotel while exploring the city.

For anyone reading this, I am a world traveler, I have stayed at many of the places this guy has stayed at and then some. But Soneva is a mediocre hospitality group. I was booked for Soneva Jani and while at another hotel in the Maldives they called to notify I must stay at Soneva Fushi (their other property) instead. Their reasoning made no sense whatsoever, so I had the impression that maybe some very rich guest or celebrity wanted to book last minute so they had to come up with some excuse to kick a commoner like me out of my spot. Anyway I tried to have a good attitude, and certainly Soneva Fushi is not a bad place. However it is not phenomenal by any means: there were literally 50+ construction workers visible all the time, my overwater villa looked directly at a rather ugly commercial island (not something you expect when watching videos like this one), and the butler always tried to pressure us into doing things we didn’t really want to do. Ok, those things are annoying but not the end of the world. However what I found unacceptable was that they made NO attempt and I mean literally NO attempt to remediate the situation - no discount, no free meal, no free excursion, nothing. The hotel manager came up to us at our meal and asked if everything was good and I said not really and before I could explain he walked away LMAO! I want to reiterate that I am grateful to be able to travel like I do, and it feels spoiled to complain about such things, but traveling for 20+ hours and spending many thousands of dollars at a “5 star” resort comes with certain expectations, and I am easy going and have never had even one problem with any of the other 100+ hotels I have stayed at. I could go on, but I just want to give people an honest opinion about this hotel group since I come to this channel to find travel ideas and many others might do the same.

@@arcticap-238 there are a ton of options in the Maldives so I would just recommend to research other places. But I did stay at the Four Seasons Maldives (Landaa Giraavaru, they have another one too) while I was there and I liked it more. However Soneva is more of a boutique experience which is why we stayed there, Four Seasons of course is more corporatized, however the overwater room we had at Four Seasons was probably the best room we have ever stayed at in the world and had a better view than Soneva. Soneva had better food. Like I mentioned Soneva is certainly not bad, I think Soneva Jani might be world class. But I do not know because they screwed me and sent me to Sonia Fushi instead lol!

I was there once thanks to you and this place is out of this world. We had to stay for 2 nights, but because of bad weather, we could not use the seaplane, so we could stay only for 1 night and things we experienced there were enormous. We have visited this place during COVID19 pandemic, there were not that many guests and they even opened closed restaurant only for us!!! And another amazing experience we had on the island was visit of mangrove crabs. They were really stunning!

The Russians are not the same society as the Western ones - this is quite obvious to the inhabitants of Central and Eastern Europe, but few in the West are aware of it. Moscow today is driven by a primitive nationalism, and the failure of the West to see this has brought Europe to the brink of a great war. It would probably be different if, after the collapse of the Soviet empire, an era of eternal peace had not been proclaimed and the West had not been mentally demobilized. Especially since the situation has clearly gone in the wrong direction since Putin took power. Of course, you might not have noticed it at first, but the West had 20 years to understand what Putin's real goal was. He himself did not hide it. Perhaps if we had better assimilated the historical memory of Hitler, the process of sobering up would not be so painful. In the West, however, there was a conviction that a second Hitler could not happen again. Another mistake, another spell of reality.

But this video has made me reconsider. I still don't think this is a single person's excursion, but now it makes me want to get a girlfriend and take her there. Bravo to you and your family!

I don't think I would ever want to spend any money to go to a Soneva resort. They just look so bare and lifeless!!! Like, what's so bad about a few plants, and some texture that isn't white wood? There are so many beautiful hotels in the Maldives that seem much more comfortable...

Another compulsive video of a place which travel restrictions delayed my visit for two years. With a new wife, this was our honeymoon not to forget, and your video was worth the wait, (even though we had seen your previous videos dozens of times), we were not disappointed, staff were superb and were invisible until you needed them. We were Chapter Two, so can not wait for that video. Next long haul trip will be, god willing, Seychelles, keep videoing.
