Not sure how many times I've watched this video. The musical performance, cinema photography and sentiment are movingly beautiful.

What a shame the voice over wouldnt shutup and let Ingrid and Jim sing this beautiful song together!

I agree. Not that the voice over was COMPLETLY useless, but hearing them sing the entire song would have been better.

And yet you wouldn't have this at all if not for this feature on Jim by this reporter and its inclusion in his DVD.

Check out Tony Rice doing it. And, of course, Lightfoot.

Lightfoot wrote it. Croce admired lightfoot and wanted to be the US gordon lightfoot.

Probably my favorite Gordon Lightfoot song. Wouldn't mind hearing Jim and Ingrid's full version! Gonna see if I can find it ...

I loved Jim Croce since I heard of him 45 years ago. His songs have a sensitivity that catches me every time. He was known for his capability of tellign stories and his jokes as well. What always got me is that nearly all his songs speak of passed things: Maybe he might have felt somehow that he would not have a long future.

I grew up in the 60/70's and Jin Croce was one of my favorites... to hear he and Ingrid start this song I was thrilled... I like the Lightfoot version but I think this song is so intimate it requires a solo guitar and someone who can express emotion... I wonder how many great artists played this beautiful song and the recordings are sitting in some archive?

This clip can be found on ‘Have you heard Jim Croce Live’ DVD from 2003 in the special features section. Apparently it is a Rick Trow Production.

I love both the Croces singing, Sandy Denny’s, Jane’s Taylor and Lightfoot’s! I wish that style would come back into style. I’m 49.

Does this exist without the voiceover? If so, it will be my favorite Christmassy song
I went to visit Ingrid's place (Croce's) in San Diego a couple of years ago, but couldn't get in due the crowd. I hope it's still open after all this Covid Crap.

honestly I forget because its many years ago. saved it on an old computer, then an external drive, then the old computer failed. that computer was nothing great but I did have software which allowed me to save videos from online. so of coarse that one I did. I knew others would enjoy it. Glad you're one of them!
