The story of Elijah and Naaman is found in 2 Kings 5.
Naaman was a respected commander of the Aramean army, but he suffered from leprosy. A young Israelite girl, who was a servant in Naaman’s household, suggested that he visit the prophet Elisha in Israel for healing. Naaman traveled to Israel with gifts and a letter from the king of Aram.
When Naaman arrived, Elisha sent a messenger to tell him to wash seven times in the Jordan River. Initially, Naaman was angry and skeptical, thinking the rivers in his homeland were better. However, his servants convinced him to follow Elisha’s instructions. Naaman dipped himself in the Jordan seven times, and his skin was miraculously healed, becoming as healthy as a child’s.
Grateful, Naaman returned to Elisha, acknowledging the God of Israel as the only true God. He offered gifts to Elisha, but the prophet refused to accept them. Naaman then asked for some soil from Israel to take back home, so he could worship the Lord on it.
This story highlights themes of faith, obedience, and the power of God to heal and transform lives.
Lyrics:
[Verse]
A soldier found lost in pride
Naaman’s illness he couldn't hide
Through the waters God made a way
Elijah’s word could save the day
[Chorus]
Dip seven times in Jordan’s flow
Trust in faith you will know
God’s grace heals without a show
Healing waters let them flow
[Verse 2]
In a moment of deep despair
Called on God who answers prayer
Oftentimes we can't understand
Miracles in His great plan
[Chorus]
Dip seven times in Jordan’s flow
Trust in faith you will know
God’s grace heals without a show
Healing waters let them flow
[Bridge]
Leave your fears behind
Open heart and mind
God’s love you'll find
Miracles so kind
[Chorus]
Dip seven times in Jordan’s flow
Trust in faith you will know
God’s grace heals without a show
Healing waters let them flow
