This was originally written by Willie Dixon and recorded by Muddy Waters. I consider this song almost like the band introducing their instrumental prowess to you - everyone has an individual moment with John Paul Jones playing the organ, Robert on the harmonica, a blast of Bonzo's thundering drums and, of course, Jimmy's guitar. It's a slow, steamy blues - almost a "bump and grind" that exudes sex appeal.

After Robert sings: ".....and I have birds that sing....." the second time, if you listen carefully, you can hear the guys laughing in the background for how exaggerated Robert sang they lyric....priceless. Just a group of 20-year-olds having fun taking over the music world....

Zeppelin's interpretation of an old blues tune that was written by Willie Dixon. That was Jones on the organ and Plant on the harmonica. Very sexy song, that. Back in the days when there were still school dances, I can tell you that this was one song we were never allowed to play. lol Thanks for another great reaction. Keep 'em coming.

Filthy, filthy, filthy blues. That distortion booster/fuzz tone (whatever term is being used today) on the guitar, is wicked, plain and simple wicked.

Blues and rockabilly mostly. He loved Delta and Chicago blues, and idolized Elvis. Old time American rock and roll was a big influence. But yeah….Plant is one of the best white blues singers. Steve Marriott (Humble Pie) was another.

And it didn’t at all. ThT almost caused a rift in their friendship…as Becks came out first, but the Zeppelin version was definitive. I’m glad they didn’t let that get in the way of their friendship.

It's definitely the way it Led Zeppelin makes things their own book if I had to describe any older Blues vibe to it of course there are eight billion, but I would like to think more in terms of like take one of howlin' wolf slower songs like say the iconic backdoor man. And then slow that down even more and then B Led Zeppelin on top of it, laugh. And it's several years later obviously. And wow. That's more I would draw it but yeah it's just song it's All About The Slow Blues there is no doubt about that but it's also about psychedelic Rock and just turning it into an interest to lots of people right then when maybe that music was starting to fade. It was just so inspiring to Led Zeppelin.

@@NAIATHEDRAGON I know you are probably short on time but I did go find a good link to the original Muddy Waters back door man. Regardless of any of this other stuff although I think you will find it is incredibly related to LED zeppelin. You've got to check out this Muddy Waters cut which I have a link for, back door man. He's got so many great ones don't get me wrong but I just picked this one because it's in that slow kind of low Fidelity Blues mode that led Zepp seems to be channeling to some degree although again they completely made it their own a number of years later. But if you get time man I hope you check this out. And I hope you check out a whole lot more of his if you get interested. Hit me up and I will send you links to some of his most significant works.. m.kzitem.info/news/bejne/wox_p2WkbqCYZ44
