I didn't look at the title and thought it was the real OST at first. Something clicked me off in Marble but I couldn't figure out. Spring Yard came and the tempo was off, and then I checked the title. From there on I could spot the innacuracies and it made for another experience. And something tells me you had trouble beating thr game as a child, as Final Zone had the inaccuracies jumping to my ear... Still a great job

This is incredibly impressive! For most of these tracks, if I hadn't read the title I wouldn't have noticed anything wrong. With that context things do occasionally sound a bit off, but only barely. The only part where a mistake really stood out to me was that missing note in Final Zone in FM 5 at 9:15 (and a few seconds later), but even then, I had to go listen to the original to make sure I wasn't imagining it. you must have one HELL of a memory 🧎♂ let's see how well mine holds up, not while trying to play it, but trying to see what's off other than the release being quite a bit too long on FM3 during the intro, which might be because of how you ripped the patch (?) if you let me hear GHZ _without_ the intro I'd believe it was the actual track from the game marble sounds a bit slow, but not quite PAL slow, but the echo on on the PSG is 👌genuinely better than the original Spring Yard has really really long release on FM2's notes during the first part, just like GHZ Labyrinth Zone intro sounds like a different chord but somehow still works Star Light - again, only the release on FM5 tips me off that something might be off, otherwise I'd believe it was the og boss music sounds like it's PAL tempo lol FM3 on the Act Clear sounds like it's an octave too high during the first part? there's usually more "meat" to it IDK 1-Up a bit slow and I think what's meant to be a chord towards the end just becomes an octave Invincibility and Chaos Emerald both sound bang on Drowning starts a bit slow but ends at the right tempo Game Over's got a few notes that linger (on release) on FM4 ...I've never heard the Continue music, I always either beat it or rage quit ...not sure if it's the sustain or the release that sounds a bit off on some of these instruments, or if maybe some of the FM operators themselves are off I rate it 🧎♂out of 🧎♂!!!

Forgive me if I'm coming across as a pleb/fake fan here but what's the deal with the clunky drum in Scrap Brain? It sounds like the timing is a little late for a lot of the notes and it's always bugged me. See also: the DPCM drum in Mario 3's airship theme
@NUKELEDGE
3 ай бұрын
It's Sonic 1's way of having "multiple" drum samples play at the same time. The snare plays first and then gets cut off because all you really need is the transient of the snare and your ears imagine the rest (especially if you're just playing on a CRT and not headphones), then the timpani plays immediately after. Mario 3's airship theme is a bug that was fixed in some later versions of the game.
