It's kind of a moot point. There only is one smartphone and two voice phones. All have excellent reception but reception is more a network thing than a handset thing. Hi Michael, If I go to settings, Languages and input, OK, Flex T9 Text Input, OK, Scroll down to next word prediction and use OK to turn it off. That should work but on mine it doesn't change anything. Try this setting change on yours and see if it works. After you toggle the button offf turn off the phone and then turn it back on. My text is also not white but black and is unchangeable. I wonder if we have different software version. Go to settings, about and scroll to the bottom. I just read the manual and one new feature on the XP5s compared to the XP5 is that it now supports Bluetooth keyboards! This was the only basic phone I found so far that supports this. @@Bryanthecellphoneguy I don't have Personal option from settings, however I called Sonim, very nice folks, English speaking, they showed me to go to SYSTEM, from settings, there is "PTT Programmable Key There", but setting it to none still brings the phone to life with your fingers all over the volume down key, which is still active anytime the back light is lite.. He said many complaints of this problem, and will do an auto update when they get it together. I put a drop of super glue on each sides of volume down, and now the phone still comes to live when you breath on the PTT button,, but only up volume can be accessed. You never have too much ear or speaker volume on this device, which is OK, because you cant adjust those anywhere in the menu, only from the side up, down keys, during or not during a call in progress... Another dumb dumb thing is the Red Emergency key also brings the phone to life activating the volume key but the glue still keeps you from being able to press the Volume Down Button, which is right where you grab the phone in daily use.. >>>>> Keep in mind folks, anytime you change the "Profile" sound settings in this phone all of the volume adjustments are turned down to Sonim's preferred settings,, """and remain there""", >> Media Volume" > Alarm Volume" > Ring Volume > Notification Volume, >>> not only revert to default volume, but the sounds and tones are all changed back to VZ default and must be changed back, so one must go into Profile sound settings after messing with Profile and change it back, all to max in m y case. Maybe they will also address that hideous feature as well. No there is no ear volume in profile, or any other available settings available.. Only the side buttons. I'm going to make this phone work for me, the sound quality is good, ear volume now loud enough to hear, unlike the XP5 first attempt. This phone is capable of connecting to many different networks not just VZ if your in the boonies or worst.. I'll be OK with it, hope you will as well.. Pray for some updates..

It's quite simple actually. The trick is to raise the volume during a call. If you play with the volume keys when you are not in call you are adjusting the ringer volume. The other trick is switch hands and hold it in your right hand during calls. I know this sounds weird but if it is in your left hand there is a good chance your thumb is on the down volume key. When the volume is accidentally lowered the natural urge is to hold it tighter which makes the situation worse. Hope this helps.

@@Bryanthecellphoneguy one more question: how many slots for contacts does it have?
@Bryanthecellphoneguy
2 жыл бұрын
@@aleksandertelecki8122 it's not a set number. The phone has 2 GB of ram so the limit is set by that. A contact with one phone number takes up less memory than a contact with three numbers and an email address. Also because of the simple but somewhat ftystrsting text entry function most people dont load it up with too many contacts.

If not, it would be because Verizon is trying to keep its clients from the frustration of such a terrible device.

Verizon currently sells this phone in their website so yes. I think these days the carriers largely did away with the network locking , but each carrier has their own frequencies (assigned by the government) and not all phones support all frequencies. I bought a phone a while back and there was a separate Verizon version. The mfr told me the non-Verizon version would still work on the Verizon network but it did not support band 13 so you may not get coverage in areas covered by that frequency because the phone doesn't support it. Likewise the Verizon version did not work on some T-mobile frequencies.
