A console just sounds right for me, thanks for this!

I like the natural richness and warm saturation of the N console, but I also like the soft, tight sound of the A console and the clipping saturation when using push hard mode. Thanks for your comments.

This is an excellent review and comparison!! I use to use the Sonimus Britson emulation for in the box mixes and I was considering getting the N console but after listening to this I think I will try the A console instead. Cheers!!

Brother, do you know how to set this up in ableton? I saw some videos, quite confusing, I still don't get that analog feel, the spacious feel in my mix, can you help bro?

@@Its24KARAT Waves NLS is the same type of plugin if you go watch any video explaining Waves NLS you'll get how these plugins work. Watching one of those videos would probably be better than me trying to explain in a comment how to use summing emulation plugins. Also the Manual for Waves NLS explains how to set it up in detail and it will work for Sonimus or Waves or Slate and the many others. Cheers!

Very handy vid, thanks! To me the N-Console feels a bit more like a thick cream, and bit "juicier", and the A-console sounds a bit more clear and open and immersive

I prefer A console. Specifically, the soft clip in push mode is impressive. Great for trimming all the audio tracks on the very first insert.

No demo from Sonimus. No refunds from Sonimus. No purchase from me.

Excellent video!! Since Sonimus doesn't give demo, can you please share this same video with Slate Digital's Vcc on Neve and API mode?(with oversampling ON) Vs Sonimus? Slate Digital provides 30 days free trial. Please please please. 🥹 Your scientific way of testing is way better than any youtube videos!

I currently have N-console as the first plugin on each channel, and I have it on every bus too, with bus grouping enabled. I'm thinking about picking up A-console. do you know if their grouping feature works between them? E.g. can I group an A-console channel to an N-console bus grouping?

Good thought. I'm curious if that works now as well, but I only own the A-Console. (Also, good use of the proper "e.g." instead of "i.e." there. (:D )

@@lucasturney4269 No, it doesn’t. You can not mix and match the different consoles in grouping. You can use both but one will have to be ungrouped.

thank you! i was about to buy N Console, but after watching this, its obvious i dont need it. It sucks the life out of everything, especially the low end. Major bummer. A Console does sound good though.

Depends on what content you're running through it. I use both for different styles of flavours. A Console is way cleaner, while N Console has the creamy glue (if paired with correct gain staging). This video is showing an example with EDM music, and thats not where the N Console shines! You can only form an opinion on it if you try it, and it's dirt cheap compared to most a brand plugins..

It’s a great console emulation, but it’s not made for this kind of “music”. I’m using it for jazz, rock and film soundtracks with really good results.
