+Les Brown +Les Brown well Sonny was the reason behind Cher's introduction the world and he helped craft her image in the early years. He devoted a lot of time to her so I'm sure she still loved him for that. If it wasn't for him she may not have been "Cher" the goddess of pop, the icon, and the entertainer. He was one of the main catalysts behind Cher becoming who she is. That's why she still loved him.

@@markbablitz6440 I think because Cher was only 16 when she met Sonny, and he was 28, had already been married and had children..and because Cher was so timid and shy, but they were working from the get go, she never really got to experience those normal teenaged and early ‘20’s things..but it was a combination of that but also that Sonny hadn’t noticed that she had grown up, and wasn’t willing to relinquish even a little bit of control. Cher’s grounds for divorce, involuntary servitude, says it all, Sonny controlled everything, Cher wanted to be an equal partner. She just didn’t pick the best men.

I think alot of people were saddened when Sonny and Cher broke up initially. Sonny took Cher under her wing and gave her the confidence to become who she is. I don't doubt for a second that this was his vision for her. I truly beloved he loved her with all his heart and the love he had for her was unconditional even after they broke up. It took him along time to find his way after that. I saw how devestated Cher was when she spoke at his funeral. I think she realized then what Sonny meant.

People might go on to live their lives, but the love and emotion that a person feels for another, even after a long time, is still there, and that's why you see a performance such as this one with Sonny and Cher, it's still charged. I was working at the Hospital in Tahoe when Sonny was killed. He was already dead by the time they got him off the mountain. Sonny was assassinated, someone, or group of someones beat the crap out of him. Sonny was an expert skier and his head was bashed in. He was a US Congressman at the time and was upsetting a lot of people in DC on issue he was bringing up, and he was Sonny Bono and already had lots of people listening to what he was saying and people were listening. Sonny was very very smart, and was saying things before Congress the establishment did not want him to talk about. I think the final nail in the coffin was he called for a Congressional hearing that was to begin in a week or so. He had left for California and a ski trip at Heavenly ski resort in South Lake Tahoe. This was no accident by any means. The injuries were too extensive to be "he hit a tree". He apparently was on the Nevada side of the mountain, which has not a lot of traffic. This resort is so big it covers 2 states and that was where he was attacked and murdered by professionals. They silenced him on a very isolated part of the mountain. One must note, Sonny had a huge built in fan base and everyone was watching and listening to Sonny Bono in Congress. This was the late 90s during the Clinton Presidency. Make no mistake, Sonny Bono was Murdered, it was not an accident.
