"You're a husband. And a father. And a man. Before all of this. Own your place." When she said that you can see how deeply it made Jax reconsider his life. The conversation between Patterson and Jax and Tara and Jax I mean come on the writing is fucking spectacular! And the acting just makes it that much better. Jax rarely listens to people but the conversations with Patterson or Nero always leave him questioning his choices and actions. When she asked him if he ever struggles to be a good man it's so heavy because that has been his struggle from day one "My guess is you struggle with it every day, what you are crashing into who you are." That is the epitome of Jackson Teller. Never has Jax loved a woman like Tara she was thee love of his life, period. And they still found their way back to each other after everything and that's real. She is the only one who could have said what she did how she did and really get Jax to wake tf up. He could never have hurt her not really and he knew it which is why he made the choice he did. He knew he was wrong and has been wrong and it wasn't until that moment went Tara thought he would hurt her is when he couldn't hide from it anymore. I have no words for Gemma she disgusts me and she is a fucking psychopath. Tara deserved better. Gemma ruins everything and continues to take away the people Jax loves. At the end of the day its not her children so it's not her choice or her business. She has hated Tara from the jump and I don't mean season 1 I mean when Tara and Jax first met when they were teenagers. She knew the moment would come when Jax would put his family over her and that's why she kept her claws in him so deep. Tara is the only woman besides Gemma who Jax truly listens to and she feared that. Maggie Siff did an amazing job as Tara Knowles-Teller, she will always be one of my favorite tv characters. If you thought Jax shifted after Opie pshhhh you're about to see what losing your best friend and lover will do to him.

The scene between Jax and Tara at the park is a stand out scene in a series that had so many amazing scenes, but this...you can see the moment Jax realizes he has gone so far off the rails, strayed so far from who he wanted to become, that the woman he has loved since he was sixteen honestly believes he is willing to kill her and it horrifies him. Suddenly, he's seeing himself through Tara's eyes and what he sees is someone who has slow transformed into something he never wanted to be. A lot of people wonder why Juice decided to help Gemma and I think that decision comes back to what happened with Clay. Betraying Clay by giving Jax the gun Clay had given him, so Jax could sat Clay up for Pope's death was seriously difficult for Juice. He cared a lot about Clay and I mentioned in another comment that Clay and Juice seemed to share a genuine bond. He felt guilty for betraying that and watching Clay die was hard for him, even if he knew Clay had earned what he got. So that ramble aside, I think he opted to help Gemma because it was what Clay would have wanted him to do because despite all the bad, Clay did love Gemma to the end and Juice was trying to ease some of the guilt he felt about the Clay situation.
@pisto30
3 жыл бұрын
That makes so much sense. Something else that reminded me of that...a couple of seasons ago Juice was in the hospital (when Jax was trying to decide whether to go nomad) and reminded Jax that Jax told him when you patch in, all the other stuff (your hometown, your family) moves back a row. All Juice really has is the club, and indirect of that, Clay and Gemma are in a way, his parents.
@greeneyelove2003
3 жыл бұрын
@@pisto30 I remember that scene. Juice was desperate for a place to belong, for a sense of family and the club gave him that, but he wasn't cut out for an outlaw lifestyle. And he made a lot of mistakes. But he made them out of fear - fear of losing the club if they learned about his father, fear of all of them ending up in jail. He was a lost soul, which become more evident in season 7. And I have to give serious credit to Theo. Juice was first brought on as sort of a comic relief character, but great writing and Theo's acting gave us a tormented character who was one of my favorites in the series.

@@greeneyelove2003100%. I've always felt like that storyline about Juice and his father was a little pointless. Like Chibs told him, half those guys don't even KNOW their fathers. @@pisto30 He deserved a nomination for the last two seasons for sure. As did Charlie. I won't say anything to spoil season 7 but Theo and Charlie were outstanding. As for the situation with his father, just the fear of losing the club clouded his judgment. He was the lost soul amongst them all.

Been waiting for this upload! Yes, hands down my favorite episode just because of the roller-coaster of emotions. I loved the scene between Patterson and Jax. Patterson being the one to sit down with Jax and give him the advice he needed about being a husband, a father and a man above everything else just held so much weight. Jax was finally stepping up for his family (wife and kids), and I'd been waiting to see that. Yes, if Tara and Jax had sat down earlier and laid out their issues, maybe things could've been different (wishful thinking) or not, knowing this show. 🤷🏾 See how important communication is in relationships! Even after all this time, I still believe the gavel should've went to Chibs, not Bobby. I understand why he wanted Bobby, but they're heading for war and Bobby's not really set for that. Maybe I'm just bias because Chibs is my next favorite. Even with Tara dying, she knew the risks. If dying meant to protect those boys then as hard as it was for her, she knew that's what she would do to get those boys out. As much as people "hated" her character, I never did. I understood why she did what she did and this series never had all good/bad characters. They're all gray, in that middle road. Sometimes people will take drastic actions for good reasons. Characters have done this throughout this series and she was another. She was an outsider who chose to enter this life. Her main issue was falling in love with Jax. Anytime someone lives in a criminal underworld, getting out or going legit is not easy and most of the time, it won't happen. No matter how much they may say they will or you may think you can change them. In worlds like this, the endgame is either jail or death. For her, her fate came at the hands of grim reaper Gemma, which is another situation right there. I've been over Juice and his drama since S4, so whatever. 😒 The opening with Jax killing that bird (pigeon, dove, you what I mean) was already preparing you for what's to come. A lot of symbolism. Didn't Kurt Sutter use Shakespeare's Hamlet or another play as inspiration for this series?! 🤔 I remember when this show was on air and there was heavy talk about that online. Yeah, I may have to lean back on S7 watch cause it's pretty dark (more than usual). I'll probably check out specific episodes though.

It's the only show where I can love some characters at first and then I started to hate them the very next moment and vice versa. :D Especially in the case of Gemma (so many mixed feelings about her), Clay and Jax + Tara. Wasn't the fan of Jax after Opie died, but he's been through a lot. Poor guy. :( One of the darkest and most violent shows I've ever seen.

Maggie was pregnant during this episode. Several months along… you can see it especially as she’s lying on the floor. It’s funny you don’t notice in the moment, but once you know, can’t help but see it every time I rewatch! Another testament to the brilliant acting that draws us completely into the story 👍.

Roosevelt was great character. I still miss hale but Taylor Sheridan wanted to leave the show. And now he’s done really well for himself.
