Late last year I swapped from shooting Nikon to Sony after buying the A7S3. I purchased the 24mm G master based on so many great reviews including yours. Then, 3 months later Sony released this 35mm lens. I love to shoot using this focal length and felt the 24mm was just not giving me that extra something special. Yesterday, I purchased the 35mm G master after selling in my 24mm lens. (Yes, I lost some $$$ in this process). I'm thrilled with the images the 35mm is giving me. It's a massive improvement as the shots look so much more dynamic and cinematic. Shooting wide open with a VND is incredible. Couldn't be happier and will put the money I lost on the 24mm lens behind me.

There are so many options of 35mm lenses to Sony at the moment, for those on a small budget the Tamron 35mm 2.8 are a great lens ! Next up are your second favourite the Sony 35mm 1.8 and now the Sony 35mm 1.4 GM, but I will wait for the Voigtländer 35mm 2.0 APO-Lanthar to arrive. There are a lot of ways to pair lenses, fx as you mention 35 + 85, I will never go for a 50mm, the 55mm are ok so a 24 + 55 can go together, I think there have to be at least 2.5x between two prime lenses in optical lenght, 3x to 4x are very good, so fx 24 +90. You can also pair 3 or 4 lenses. My set are 24 + 55 + 135 + 200-600, the 55mm will soon be replaced by the Voigtländer 65mm 2.0 Macro APO-Lanthar and the tele-zoom will be replaced as soon as a new compact prime tele are available on the market, fx 300mm 4.0, 400mm 4.5 or 500mm 5.6. With a wide-angle lens prime lens a short tele lens (two-set lenses) you can do about 90 to 95% of all type of photography.
