I bought this last week. And it replace my lg v20. The clarity of the music and battery life wins over. Last time I used a DAP was creative zen. Now I'm going back to dap and not regretting bringing this everywhere I go. I highly recommend this player for someone who just want music player that deliver clear, garing, sedap, spacious sound quality. Edm, melodeath, post hardcore, metalcore, trance, Jcore, hip hop sound great. But I notice the low isn't really punchy there but mid and high are great. Female vocal are so euphoric. I got a few mp3s and it really increase the quality of it.. More clearer crisp spacious and less muddier or flat? . Idk if my description help. English not my primary language. Sorry I'm currently using the earpiece that came along with it. It has noise canceling that works pretty well and as an iem, it is really good when I set the eq to U shape. I insert my old audio-technica m50 headphone and it sound pretty well too but the volume has to be 75 and above to hear it. Might be cause of the impedance value that I can't understand.. 😐 I am no audiophile but this DAP purchase really changed my view on music. I appriciate my song more now. Been purchasing flac, lossless and just tried out 24/96 quality on one album EGOIST. If you know chelly's voice, OMG it sound so good. It like she is singing infront of me when I close my eyes. Trance always brings me to another world and metal is so atmospheric and powerful.

bharat sharma Hi! The UI is straight forward and customizable where you rearrange the main menu to any order. It use swipes gestures to navigate from one section to another. I only have one complain about this UI. It is missing SEARCH feature. Other than that, if you know what to listen to, it's easy to navigate. Just scroll down. But it's not that smooth if in terms of fps. Kinda jerking at times.

YES! Audio players are still a must for music lovers who want premium sound quality AND for anyone who wants to listen to music without having to be dependant on a Wifi or data streaming network connection. On the subway (MRT, MTR, Underground) the signal interruptions when streaming detract terribly from the listening experience - never a problem with locally accessed music files. Case closed! (Nice review by the way - I have an old Sony NW-A3000 and am now looking for something that can store at least 70gb. Also the NW-A3000 battery is almost kaput, probably not worth the $$ to replace, although it is fun to use such a retro device).

I bought this because they don't allow phones in my workplace due to sensitive information that we have. I received this last week and I DON'T REGRET IT!! He's not lying about the sound quality. It makes the Akg earbuds that came packed in with my smartphone sound like sennheisers! Seriously!! The battery life is fantastic, and the ease of use is a dream. If you want to add music plug it in to a Mac or PC and drag and drop. That simple. One more thing I'd like to point out for anyone purchasing this device is that even though he complained about search function, an easy way around this would be to put your music in folders. Go to folder on the main screen, and they'll all be there as you put them. Problem solved. I replaced my ipod with this and I'll NEVER GO BACK!! So long Apple.

This is the best personal stereo I've ever had!!!!! I rip CDs into MP3 at 256Kbps and this is perfect for me. The sound is wonderful with Sony ear buds from Ross: Dress For Less. [Update] Few months back, I went to a local Walmart to get a Sony Bluetooth stereo headset. It took me quite a while to find the best audio output for the headset: ClearAudio+.
@mmoore1400

You might as well rip them to 320Kbps if you're using this. No reason not to with cheap storage and all. Hell, the point of hi-res players is to use them with FLAC files. But I can understand that won't be practical for everyone.
@Solitaire001
5 жыл бұрын
@@mmoore1400 I generally agree about using FLAC when it comes to music when the player supports it and you have enough storage space for it. However, in my opinion there a few times when a lossy format might be fine. One of these is with audiobooks. For me, when an audiobook is just one person speaking then a lower-bitrate lossy format is fine (such as a variable bitrate MP3 at the highest quality setting) and will save you space on your player.

The file transfer is why I will buy this to replace my ipod. I've been looking at cheap MP3 players but they don't operate a FAT structure. Then I remembered I had an old Sony phone and found it had the ability to control what file goes where through Explorer and is exactly what I want. Apple iTunes may suit the 'click and wait' crowd but I want control over exactly how my tracks are organised. Itunes does not allow any control of what media I have 'uploaded' and how I access it on the device so I'm migrating away from Apple products to ones like this.

I hate iTunes too, and will never buy Apple music players, or Apple probably. One of my first problems was getting my iPod Shuffle to show up in iTunes. I tried and googled and it took two hours. Eventually I found a link that explained I needed to alter a setting in iTunes preferences. I had to change a setting to get the iPod to show up in iTunes. ... I was beyond livid. ... How you're supposed to just drag and drop, I will never know. I have to fight with it every single time. .. Once I tried to delete and MP3 version of an album, and replace it with a .wav version. Drag and drop - no chance. I gev up after ages trying. Basically i have only four albums on my iPod, because I can not work iTunes.

@Solitaire001
5 жыл бұрын
File organization is one of the main reason I prefer to use MediaMonkey (MM). MM gives you complete control on how your files are organized on your computer and on your player. This includes the ability to apply conditional settings, such as only including the track number if it is greater than 0. As an example, on my player (an NW-A45) I have it arranged as follows: \MUSIC\[Album Artist, limited to no more than 16 characters]\[Album, limited to no more than16 characters]\[Track Number, always three digits if the track number is greater than 0] - [Title, limited to no more than 16 characters] The reason for limiting the Album Artist, Album, and Song Title to 16 characters each is to ensure that the file path is not too long. Some of my classical songs have titles that are very long and it caused a problem with the file path being too long when I tried to sync my player. With the above settings, the entire file path will never be longer than 67 characters (if I've calculated correctly). NOTE: This doesn't affect the information in the metadata, the entire tag will still be there but if you change the metadata the file name will be changed to reflect the new information. The nice thing about MM is that you can just set it and forget it, MM will automatically take care of it during the syncing. Even better, if I decide to increase the number of characters to 32 all I have to do is make a change in the settings and it will automatically make the change when I sync my player.

So If I was to buy a Sony NW-A45, Would I be able to put my micro SD card (full of music) into it just like that? I ask because I'm still deciding to get one and Because I don't have a computer at the moment.

Yes, but you may have to format sd card inside walkman player

@@palexstarks5553 You can use any manufacturers card. Currently i use Sandisk 32GB, but might eventually get bigger.

anyone used any 128GB SD card withit? how is the large flac, wav and DSD files browsing and processing performance if it is filled up with full 128GB. Does the player gets slow or freezes? Normally mobile phones get's slower with lots of files right? Like a 1000 files filled with 128 GB SD

I'm using a 128gb memory card and have had no problems with card, other than it takes longer to generate the player's library. However, as with most Walkman player, some of the storage space will be used by the player. There is one related issue to be aware of: the maximum number of items that can be put in a playlist on this player is 999. For me this is an issue since I use playlists in MediaMonkey to sync my music to my player (only songs in a playlist are synced to my player) and some of my playlists were too large for the player. I use ratings to determine what will be loaded on my player (any song rated three stars or higher will be loaded on my player), but this resulted in a playlist that contained over 5,000 songs. My solution was to divide the songs into playlists based on years. As an example, all songs before 1950 are in one playlist, while all songs from 1950 to 1959 would be in another. This allowed me to ensure that no playlist exceeds 999 songs. If a playlist becomes too large, I just split it into two playlists (such one for all songs from 1950 to 1954 and another for all songs from 1955 to 1959), and then sync both playlists to my player. This may an issue for some users and I hope this helps.

The volume limitation for European market remains.

I think you might be able to turn that off. I asked on Amazon if it could be turned off on the NW ZX300. Sony replied with a link, to say yes. ... However there are also firmware hacks that turn off all volume limiting.

If you rip your CD using Sony's Music Center software it will import the artwork. If you use anything else, it won't recognise the artwork - such as Windows Media Player. A really annoying aspect, I find. My old Sony could cope with WMP with no issues. I keep badgering Sony about this annoying aspect. Hopefully one day they will recognise it needs addressing.

Your Covers shouldn't be in progressive jpg format, you can open all covers in IrfanView and save them as non-progressive jpg

One possibility is the album art is designed as something other than "Cover (Front)" (as it is shown in MediaMonkey). There are many ways that the album art can be designated (such as "Cover (Rear)" and "Booklet") but I've found that "Cover (Front)" works. Another issue might be multiple album art graphics stored in the same ID3 tag.
