Okay, well I had hopes until looking at the price. For anyone wondering, this 220" model runs for about $600,000. The smallest option at 110" runs for $172,000. Not even considerable for a consumer.

I absolutely love the idea of modular LED systems and I think all major manufacturers should be going in that directly. Make it somewhat affordable for people to create a 75 inch TV using a few panels and then encourage them to expand from there by simply adding more as their budget affords it!! in theory that sounds like a great idea but there's not enough consistency on panomanufacturing for that to happen smoothly it would have to be professionally calibrated each screen to be the same if they switch lines and you bought them two years later for instance not to mention the TV technology has been changing so much you have different type of panels as well if you took too long to build your screen

I think the led wall screen is a great alternative to a projector system. I myself for my set up use a Sony 65 inch full array Bravia. It may not get as black as an oled but it still can get good blacks. In my small theater room which is an unused bedroom the screen is pretty big and I don't have to worry about blackening the room and changing out lamps. This giant wall screen is a great way to go bigger of you can and have something that lasts longer and will give you that bright powerfull picture that a high end tv can give you. I get it though the cinematics of a projector is great to but most affordable projectors won't give you full 4k and hdr so either way you got to make a choice. Plus honestly for screens that size either way you will lose detail with even 4k. When you go to the movies you are often seeing 8k images most of the time especially with old movies shot on film so they look great blown up. I guess that is why Kaleidescape is going to be the future for pain in the ass audio and videophiles like ourselves who want everything.

How does the video quality of the Sony and Samsung LED walls compare to the best projectors you've seen e.g. Christie Gryffin or Eclipse? Since you've seen both I was wondering what your impressions are.
@commanderrussels2612
Жыл бұрын
I saw the Christie Eclipse demo and saw all the LED walls there, and while the LED walls will eventually be the ticket, to my eye the Eclipse still looked noticeably better. The LED walls when you see solid colors you can make out the module edges on all of them, for one thing, but also just the general picture quality wasn't as good to my eye. Now, moving forward, I think they'll we the way we all go...because while the Eclipse looked amazing, that requires a dark room and an equipment room (it's not a normal sized consumer projector), versus the LED walls don't require much depth at all. The issue with the LED walls is still the sound, but that's getting worked on too.
