Not to catch on the trend ??? They do not supply the charger or even a cable ! Sure, the headphone jack is there but most people enjoy their wireless systems anyways. SD card slot is fine BUT if you use it you lose dual sim, why not have both like some phones. They SHOULD catch on the software support trend. Sony is way behind with just 2 years of OS support. They are really lacking. And ofcourse the poor heat management is a shame. Ever used a Sony and made videos ?? Sony is a hardware and media company first, and its seen in their smartphone designs that don't come with notches or other cutouts (except for the Xperia Ace 2 for certain regions). If you look closely, the Mark series of smartphones look like a small OLED TV. And TVs are used for entertainment. You only need to focus on what you are watching on a high resolution screen without the distractions of a cutout when using full screen mode, and hear the sound produced by its dual front-facing stereo speakers or your wired headphones. The design came from Sonys Omnibalance philosophy from a few years ago and it still looks modern and minimalist until today. They also retained the notification LED because common sense dictates that you can still use your eyes to find out that you have a message or unanswered call even if you are not using always-on screen features.

A garbage hardware company sure, Sony stopped giving a damn about their hardware in the early 2000's after they had spent 2 decades copying all their competitors and then price gouging them out of business (RIP JVC). Are you kidding me. And with Sony it's not just gaming but using it for video recording and heay photography too.. - Batterylife doesn't even come close ... (8gen1) There simply isn't ANY Android smartphone that does well with the 8gen1 on this planet right now. NONE ... Nothing comes close to the Iphone 13PM - Auto mode of the camera renders worse looking looking pics for most users. It's for the Pro users. - No Nightmode because Sony says you don't need it - Charging speeds are SLOW for 2022 in the Android segment - Speakers are just Good, they are not exellent which is weird for a company like Sony Yeah, your right, no cutting corners.

Currently on the Xperia 10 III in the market for a new phone and man, the Xperia experience has honestly been great. The biggest thing to me that makes it so hard to switch from an Xperia is the splitscreen capabilities, it's so convenient and I actually do find myself using it everyday, especially for driving (Google Maps + Spotify). I had xperia 1 iii and I sold it after 2 weeks bcs sometimes it gets way too hot, especially using 5g. When speaking, sensor didn't worked properly and can't hold the screen off when next to ear, so you end up activating random shits. Also gets hot when using camera longer than couple of minutes. Using both sim cards is mission impossible, as it gave you temperature warning even when you using it to speak over social media. When recording any video, you need to hold the phone extremely careful bcs of the microphone, as it picks up every sound when you touching your phone or pushing some buttons on it, very annoying. Even when I turned off 5g, it gets really hot when using network or talking over social media. All in all, bad experience with xperia. Most beautiful smartphone out there with all blows and whistles we need. What an irony.

Not much of an upgrade from last year's Mark 3. The cost is $400 more, making it ridiculously $1600. It still doesn't have a 32 bit Quad DAC. Nor is it compatible with streaming 4K HDR in Vudu, Movies Anywhere or Google Play Movies when it is highly capable. Still no Dolby Vision capability even though it had Dolby Atmos processing. It's great it doesn't have a notch or a punch hole. And it is still rocking a headphone jack with an expandable storage slot. And the UI is mostly vanilla but it could use some UI customizations similar to LG phones. Overall if you're not a streamer or a serious content creator this is an expensive phone that ain't worth the upgrade from last year.

It's an upgrade but comes at a serious price and still it fails to impress with the competition. I mean really: - Heat issue hampers performance that can drop to 65% !!!! - No Nightmode because Sony says you don't need it - No Portrait mode because Sony says you don't need it - Its extremely expensive for an Android device - Charging speeds are SLOW for 2022 in the Android segment, 65W are now average. - Speakers are just Good, they are not exellent which is weird for a company like Sony - Software support is poor for 2022 standards - No LTPO display, so no low refersh rates, just 120 or 60 which is 2019 tech. Nah, it's better than before but could have been a LOT better. AND the question with Sony is always, when do they actually sell it ? Seen that before, by the time it's sold it's kinda lost it's steam.

@@Roomer645 It's really just a miniscule upgrade. I mean, what exactly are the big highlights of this new Xperia compared to its predecessor? +500 battery mAh? With the heat, I'm doubtful it'll make much of a difference. Sure, GSMArena's tests state otherwise, but we'll have to see. Other youtubers like MWTB have said that the screen time is only 6 hours without excessive camera usage. That ain't looking too good. If anything I'd give it an extra 30 minutes of runtime. The cameras indeed got a good upgrade, however its not any better than the competition and that's the problem. For an extra $400-$500, you'd expect them to shred right through the competition, but it's not even slightly better than Samsung's 'n' Apple's offerings. Other than that, I honestly don't see anything else worth noting. So, they've made a small upgrade, but raised the price by an extra $300??? I honestly expected an LTPO Panel, coupled with a promised 4 years of OS and Security updates. Sony hasn't said anything about that. Personally, headphone jack and SD card are not worth $400-$500 extra, on top of that, you lose out majorly on battery life and software support going the Sony route. All this and people still praise Sony. To be fair, we're humans, and we truly do love to see the negative side of things, much more than the positives. So, obviously we'd be very nitpicky at any Smartphone, including this one. Who knows, maybe it really is a Godly Smartphone but we just don't see it. I doubt that as well, though.
