"Well now, you young'uns listen up," Old Grandpa Jenkins chuckled, his voice as warm as a spring sunrise, as crinkly as the pages of an ancient book. His golden dog Bessie, old and wise, her coat glowing like molten honey in the sunset, lay sprawled at his feet. The porch creaked rhythmically under his rocking chair, a soundtrack to this peaceful evening scene, punctuated by the occasional sip of ice-cold lemonade. "Ya see, there once was a man named Kanda Afrika who had an interesting tale," he started, his eyes sparkling with mischief and wisdom, peering out over the quiet, sleepy town of Lensville. Kanda Afrika, an inhabitant of this modest town, was no ordinary man. He was a bit of a tinkerer, a fixer-upper, a creator of things. His preferred tool of creation? Well, now, that's where our tale takes a whimsical turn. "Kanda Afrika, bless his heart, he used his balls to sand wood," Grandpa Jenkins chuckled, a playful glint in his old, yet lively eyes. Bessie, the dog, perked her ears at the sound of Kanda Afrika's name, her eyes twinkling as if she too, were in on the joke. He continued, "Now, don't get your britches in a twist, it ain't what you're thinkin'. His balls, see, were special balls of hardened silica, spherical grains of sand compressed together with a hint of magic - what folks around here call 'ball sanded.'" "This method of ball sanding was a spectacle to behold, an art even, something of a local legend. The balls would spin and twirl, bounce and rebound, creating a mesmerizing, hypnotic dance against the roughened wood, like an intricate ballet of physics and craftsman's intuition. Their movement, precisely controlled by Kanda Afrika's skillful hand, would gradually smooth out the knots and bumps, creating a surface as smooth as a baby's bottom, a mirror to the soul of the world." "The process of ball sanding, mind you," Jenkins leaned in as if sharing a precious secret, "is a study in the science of tribology - the study of friction, wear, and lubrication. The mechanical movement of the balls against the wood produces friction, which in turn generates heat. The heat softens the surface of the wood, allowing the fine grains of the balls to gradually wear it down in a process akin to erosion." Grandpa Jenkins leaned back in his chair, his gaze drifting towards the horizon, painted in hues of amber and lavender by the setting sun. He chuckled softly, "The whole thing, you know, reminded me of my time in Africa. Yes, yes, the Serengeti plains, where the wind whips up the sand, sanding the savannah into a smooth, polished landmass under the unyielding sun." A gentle breeze rustled through the leaves, carrying with it the whispers of the old continent. In the silence that followed, Grandpa Jenkins' words hung in the air, painting vivid pictures in their minds - the boundless African plains, the swirling dance of Kanda Afrika's sanding balls, and the golden gleam of Bessie's eyes reflecting the last light of the day. For a moment, they were all there, in the heart of Africa, feeling the gritty wind against their skin, watching as the relentless sand reshaped the landscape. Then they were back on the porch in Lensville, with Kanda Afrika's peculiar craft, shaping and molding with his unique method, connecting them across continents and cultures, through time and space, in the most unexpected of ways. "And that, my little sprouts, is the story of Kanda Afrika and his brand new Sony ZV1-M2. This gadget, you see, captures these fantastic stories, these nuances, these mesmerizing dances of the sanding balls, and the shifting sands of Africa. It brings together the peculiar, the profound, and the poetic, all in one frame," Grandpa Jenkins finished, a contented sigh echoing around the quiet porch

For some reason, the 4k video is very soft on a 43" 4k monitor streamed at 4k. However, the pictures from this camera are nice and sharp. I wonder why the 4k is so darn soft? One thing that is impressive is I see hardly any focus breathing unlike other Sony portable cameras. The wide end 1.8 aperture and the internal ND filter are impressive specs. This is a tempting camera to buy. Can you check the 4k sharpness settings? Perhaps it needs post sharpening?

For me Catalyst Browse doesn't work on Windows 10 so that I can stabilize the video even further. The software crashes whenever I try to stabilize a clip (even a 1 minute clip). Plus the software doesn't let me render and export the clip. It tells me that I need to get the paid version/upgraded version of the software. Any idea why? I also have the ZV-1 M2! Amazing camera! I just wish it had dynamic stabilization. I mean Active Stabilization is not garbage but not dynamic stabilization/GoPro/Iphone stabilization either which is not amazing, not woow when you see a smartphone having a better video stabilization compared to a actual camera...for KZitemRS. The stabilization from the camera is just decent enough (so that people can still watch your video) but not really good. Maybe they can create a software update to improve a little bit the stabilization. I am 100% sure that after we all spent our money on the ZV-1 M2 they will release a ZV-1 M3 with way better video stabilization. This is what tech companies do! When you buy there brand new product and start using it just after a while they come up with the newer version of the product which has better specs (and what you expected from the last version that you bought). And you are like 《Well! I just bought this camera recently! What should I do now? Try to sell it on Facebook Markerplace or whatever and add some extra cash on top to get the new version because it has the feature that I want/need? Which I thought is gonna be in my product as everybody else was expecting that too.》:))

Why ZV-1 Mark II 20 megapixels is more expensive than ZV-E10 have 24 megapixels? And for the photos results, which one will be more good? Please answer 🙏🏼 thanks
@MarkBennettCameraCrisis
Жыл бұрын
Megapixels doesn't necessarily mean more expensive. The FX3 has 12 megapixels and is $5000. However, I do I think that the ZV-E10 is a better value than the ZV1 ii. But I think they are charging more because you won't have to buy any extra lenses and it has a a lot of features in a very small size. But out of the two, I am choosing the ZV0-E10 every time unless I need ULTIMATE portability.

Great review, great camera…sorry we had to lose the extra 20mm for zoom (probably fine for most people though, but that was nice for travel) and F4 from 2.8 max of the ZV1, but worth it for other features in my view, especially getting 18mm wide lens. Frankly, thought it looked and sounded wonderful.

Splendid overview and review as always. So glad you had access to it early : ) I'd consider the lack of OIS a con, even with the cropping leeway the wider lens allows, good optically stabilized footage does look better imo. Another weakness in my book, compared to the ZV-1 mk1, is the inevitable shorter max. focal length (50mm over 70mm of mk1). One of the biggest strengths of stand-alone cameras nowadays with plenty of actioncams and phones around is getting quality zoom footage. I'm more than happy with my phone and dji pocket 2 for wide shots so if I'd buy a ZV-1 I'd still probably go for the mk1.

I hope they make a zv-1 M3 with changeable lenses. Keep everything the same except have changeable lenses and add Ai for better auto settings. Like i can’t even get 60-70 minutes of 4k recording out of my fx30. That’s insane

Hello bro, could you do the review of the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 and compare it against the Sony ZV1-M2?... Greetings from Mexico.

@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Hi bro. I saw that you already made the comparison of the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 against the ZV-E10 and against the iPhone 15 Pro. But now that you have the opportunity, it would be interesting to see the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 compete against the ZV1-M2 and even against the ZV1-F, since I think that is the sector it is aimed at.

It's a boring good camera, but I want innovation from Sony. It should have been better in 2023, this is what I expected of the 2020 ZV1. I agree with Gerald about the smearing because of the lacking OIS too, it's a downgrade. I'd also like 4K30 10bit in 2023, and limited 4K60. The sensor is pretty fast after all

Just posted about that exact sentiment on Gerald's channel, that Sony should be leading the industry and is just doing odd receyclings now. They should make a base camera spec to include 10bit, 4k60 (no crop), built-in ND and OIS, and no rolling shutter with high dynamic range. Do that then scale it up to the higher end cameras with additional pro features. a $400 Go Pro does all that and has for years.

i really want to see this camera in a sit down interview style maybe something as simple as two people sitting on a 3 seater sofa with a gap in the middle..basically if there are 2 humans at the same distance looking into the lens will it track them both just as clear. i know this is a messy comment but i would love to know ??

Does Sony pay you for promoting the zv1 mark 2 camera?

haha - I wish. If it's a sponsored video - you must disclose it legally. No one pays me for anything, unfortunately

t is more contrasty, and depending on the screen your watching on and preference, some people really like that. I’m a lower contrast guy myself.

I looked for the douggie comparison but found the jokes about Sony ending you to west Africa instead. 😂
