Don't stress the monstera yellowing near the bottom, older leaves tend to eventually age and the overall health of your plant looks GREAT. I'd just cut off the yellow stems and let it divert energy toward the rest of its beautiful foliage.

The colour of your Gallant looks amazing on you! I don't think I would change the neckline. Yes, its a bit different from the pattern but it does look good. I have done sweater surgery (successfully) but I would not do it in that location. If you do it though, I would not knit in the "wrong" direction. I would take out the cast on, knit a new cast on with the leftover yarn as if to start the sweater again (make sure the stitch count is the same), knit the length of the neck that is missing and then craft to the neck you already have. Not sure that. makes sense. But again, I think the sweater looks great as it is and I would not do that.

Thanks for the advice Ursula! Everyone seems to like the neckline so maybe I'll start with just an elastic to help it stop stretching more. Great advice though to actually just knit the neck again and graft it. That makes a lot of sense if I decide to go down that path.

They are definitely a time investment so planning ahead is a good idea. I have so many I want to make for fall/winter this year too so I think I need to start this summer!

I really relate to your frustration about making those unfortunate mistakes due to so much else going on . So thank you for sharing. Also, I love the Melides dress vlogs and it motivates me to cast on myself at some point.

Thanks for the updates, they're very inspiring! I made the exact same mistake with using smaller needles on the sleeves while working on my Ingrid sweater. I only noticed this when I reached the sleeve ribbing and realized I was supposed to switch to smaller needles. And since Ingrid has various intricate structures, there was no way I was going to rip the whole sleeve back. Surprisingly, nobody else noticed this mistake, and I only remembered it now while listening to you. I also liked how you described Wild and Soft, and I'm curious to see the result!

Super nice sweater. I would knit it an inch longer, you have the extra yarn. The neck looks fine as is.

Gurl! I knit English style and picked up colorwork holding the contrast yarn continental style pretty quickly with a little practice. That was back in the day when I was more cavalier and before I started overthinking my knitting so there's that. You have so much confidence and ambition about finishing the Melides dress in time for Sicily - grab a hold of some of that energy for your colorwork.

I love the gallant sweater as is. Maybe not like the pattern but the neckline is flattering for you. Especially with that beautiful color.

I think that your Gallant sweater is beautiful and love the colour. I think the neck looks fine. But I personally like a more open neckline. If you think it might stretch more, then put some elastic. But otherwise, i wouldn't touch it. Rosie

Hi Sheri, I always love watching your podcast and this one is no exception. The Gallant sweater is beautiful on you. The color is gorgeous. I don't think I would change the neckline. Maybe some elastic thread but that's as far as I would go. Good luck with the test knit and the dress. Both seem challenging but nothing you can't achieve. I have the spring buying yarn bug too. I think spring gives us energy and more daylight to want to knit all the things. Enjoy!

I personally think the neckline of the Gallant looks really good on you! Are you holding the Wild and Soft single or double for the t-shirt? I think I'd love to try that yarn for a summer garment but the patterns that I like usually are for DK weight yarns, and am worried holding it double would be too heavy for summer!
@Goodknits_

Holding single! That is actually why I picked the SONYA shirt because I find a lot of t-shirts are double or DK and I wanted to just use the Wild & soft on it's own. It's working up beautifully. If you want to do a DK weight pattern I highly recommend holding KFO cotton merino double. It doesn't feel heavy at all and it makes a really nice fabric. I did that for my Tolsta last summer.

Do you mean the Gallant sweater? It’s Woolfolk FÄR in aubergine. It’s also mentioned in the show notes. I always include the pattern and the yarn I used.

I would leave the neckline alone on your sweater. I knit a funnel neck but because the yarn was so soft, it slumps making an unsightly ridge. It would not add to the beauty of your finished garment!
