As salaamu alaikum, sis. I have been in business for myself since 2005. It’s service based and therefore, anyone considering doing “business” with me, sees me in-person. For years, I tried to limit my visibility to only those individuals coming into my office - avoiding photos, online images, etc…I got pretty good at figuring out, based on body language, which ones would return and who decided they’d seek such service elsewhere because of who and what I am - a Black, Muslim Woman. And then, alhamdulillaah, I arrived at this place several years ago where I just accepted the fact that if a person had a problem with me because of my race, religion, or gender, I didn’t want their business! My rizq (provision) and yours is with Allaah. I’m all for “pivoting” and am constantly trying to think of one for myself. I just hope that this “pivot” for you is something that brings you joy and freedom…in every sense of the word. 😉 May Allaah bless your efforts and give you the best in this world and the Hereafter! Ameen! 🤲🏾

I do not use UPS. If something is shipped by UPS, and you are not home, miss the delivery, or whatever the case may be UPS will take your package to the nearest address and leave it there. UPS has never informed anyone that they will leave your package at some other address. They did this with two of my packages. A computer, and a package I sent to my son. Anything with the words UPS - I do not use. The company that you buy your product from is not aware of what UPS is doing. I now check with the vendor to see if they use UPS. If they do, I do not buy from them. UPS is terrible.

Watching this and your problems with package delivery can definitely relate. Had that happen with Amazon a few times. Once it was shipped via a local company in my city. I got a notice it was delivered but not at my address. Talked to customer service at the shipper and they gave me a description of the front of the residence that didn't match mine. But said the driver would go back to get it. Next day got a call that driver did that and at first the home owner wouldn't surrender the package!! Driver said if he didn't he'd report him and the police would get involved. So person finally did and I got it and I asked the customer service to thank the driver. Another time also Amazon. Package showed up as delivered but the photo didn't match my property. I couldn't get a refund b/c it was a third party company just a replacement. About to reorder but Amazon said to wait a day or so. Next day my package showed up! I was so grateful. Where I was living at the time, mail/package theft was a huge problem. Thieves would tail delivery drivers then steal the packages after delivered. Glad it worked out for you!! :)

Was it Elton John's Sad Song (Say So Much? Cover art for Sad Songs (Say So Much) by Elton John Sad Songs (Say So Much) Guess there are times when we all need to share a little pain And ironin' out the rough spots Is the hardest part when memories remain And it's times like these when we all need to hear the radio 'Cause from the lips of some old singer We can share the troubles we already know Turn 'em on, turn 'em on Turn on those sad songs When all hope is gone (Ah) Why don't you tune in and turn them on? They reach into your room, oh-oh-oh, oh Just feel their gentle touch (Gentle touch) When all hope is gone (Ooh) Sad songs say so much If someone else is sufferin' enough, oh, to write it down When every single word makes sense Then it's easier to have those songs around The kick inside is in the line that finally gets to you And it feels so good to hurt so bad And suffer just enough to sing the blues See upcoming pop shows Get tickets for your favorite artists [Chorus] So turn 'em on, turn 'em on Turn on those sad songs When all hope is gone (Ah) Why don't you tune in and turn them on? They reach into your room, oh-oh-oh, oh Just feel their gentle touch (Gentle touch) When all hope is gone (Ooh) You know sad songs say so much [Bridge] Sad songs, they say Sad songs, they say Sad songs, they say (Ah) Sad songs, they say so much

This is an excellent video that addresses feelings of sadness and depression that everyone encounters, yet we all find ways to regain our footing. You’re absolutely right-crying can be therapeutic; expressing those emotions and moving forward rather than lingering on the issue is essential. I can only imagine how challenging it is to live the van life full-time, but some individuals manage to make it work, while others present it as a glamorous vacation experience.

Monique 👋🏿 Good Morning and Happy Sunday. I hope the weekend treated you well ☺️. I’m glad to see that you got your new phone. Sometime trying to get a package while on the road can be a brain racking hassle. As far as the feelings of being sad, I feel like having those feelings sometimes come with being on the road all alone. I go through those days myself sometimes. It’s definitely not an everyday thing, but it does happen. The best way I’ve learned to deal with those types of days (if the weather is right) is by taking a long walk/hike. I put on my headphones and allow my music (or podcasts/talk radio) to lead me for miles. That usually works for me. Just find something that helps put your mind in a positive space, and focus on that. Also, please try not to focus on the negative people who jump into comments… most of them are trolls who are looking for a reaction. If you are in your feelings and need to vent, please use your platform to do so. Pressure bursts pipes so don’t hold it in. We are here for you Monique and most of us look forward to seeing you smile and be happy… even if that means airing out the days when you are not. 🖤
