He's a great player. But I have two concerns with Sinner compared to his biggest "rival" Alcaraz. He has one road to victory against Alacaraz and that is to play out of his mind for two or three sets. We know how he wants to play. High risk attacking tennis and that is his way to win against practically anybody. My concern for him is that he lacks a plan B, and has a poor 5-set record. Weather it's physically or mentally, he often folds in de 5th set against those who can bring him to a fifth set. Alcaraz on the other hand has all the tools to win against Sinner in multiple ways. His biggest challenge is to stay focused and keep his form throughout the year. I don't see Sinner winning many matches against Alcaraz in these next years because I think Alcaraz now knows how to play against him.

I don't think Sinner will be able to defend his Canada's 1000 points, it's too close to the Olympics and I don't think those who do it will go there, but he could do well in Cincinnati. If I could decide I wouldn't go to the Olympics to better prepare for the next tournaments, especially the USO, being number 1 at the end of the year is more important. The analyzes on his performance at Wimbledon are very interesting, for the match he lost against Medvedev he rightly downplayed his physical problems, but in reality it was a semi-miracle that he finished it standing and in the 5th set, let's remember that with the Russian he came from 5 victories in a row with the last one 6-1 6-2. Unfortunately in tennis there is also the luck factor, for example catching a virus when you are playing a slam rather than when it doesn't cause you particular problems, Sinner unfortunately does not excel in this.

The Nadal match in 2019 was when Meddy was still coming into his own. It takes a lot to win your first Slam final, especially against an in-form legend. I definitely don’t think it was mentality, because after being hammered at the AO in 2021, Meddy problem-solved at the USO and counterattacked Djokovic out of the match. The Nadal final in 2022 did seem like a major missed opportunity, and honestly I can’t really explain that dip in the last three sets. The USO final last year looked a lot like Meddy just being outplayed tactically. And this year at the AO, I do think the fatigue played a part. Having played that epic against Zverev, Meddy just couldn’t keep his level up and adapt to Sinner’s level.

I don’t agree with the nagging ‘variety’ to beat Carlos. They used to say that about Novak and Nadal that they were too one dimensional versus Federer and they both passed Roger in the end with largely their baseline brutality. Actual stats for Novak in a data breakdown in the NYT show baseline brutality and better serves were the winning edge for Novak’s last ten slams with no where near the variety of Roger. Chris Evert had far less variety than Evonne and BJK and passed both. Iga and Saba have far less variety than Ons Jaebeur and they are both way past her. Serena was criticized as only power grinding and she is the GOAT. Carlos and Sinner are 5-4 Carlos. Hardly dominate. Where Carlos does dominate is 5 sets and stamina. He is a far better athlete than Sinner and has more killer instinct. Sinner has a tendency to let his opponent back into winning matches. But he has to fix his stamina and mental stress first. And this whole Anna distraction now having to worry about her matches in his off days is way too much stress.

Last season, Djokovic’s conversion rate was a clinical 72.1 per cent, top in the sport and 3.3 percentage points higher than his conversion rate of 68.8 per cent in 2015. The tour average is 66 per cent. How did he become so clinical? His forehand got two miles per hour faster over the past eight years. That helps. Also, his attacking position was 60 centimeters further into the court than it was in 2015, meaning he is hitting the ball far earlier than he used to, suffocating opponents by stealing split seconds from their recovery and preparation times.

We actually didn't get to see his real level on grass since he couldn't get to play semifinal against Carlitos. If we can take Halle as an example we can say that the level is quite high. If he get's to do a good phisical preparation before the last part of the season he might keep his nr. 1 because, besides Cincinnati, he is only going to play on his favourite surfaces after the olimpic games. What I don't understand is how is he (and the other top players that are supposed to go deep in Paris) going to play a Master 1000 in Montreal just a few days after the Paris semifinals and final. They will probably all skip Montreal and play Cincinnati which means that Yannik won't be able to defend his 1000 atp points putting in danger his Nr. 1 ranking. It will be a fascinating run between him an Carlos.

Nothing happened to him. He lost to Medvedev a better player on the day. And I think he really has to work on his stamina and he will be unbeatable on any surface. The fact that Sinner cruised through early rounds means nothing.

I am South Tyrolean and have heard from people very close to Jannik, that his “physical breakdown” wasn’t because of health issues but it was staged. He was kinda getting cold feet because he noticed Medi is stronger than him. This is what I have heard.

From what I see they are complaining about the over-coverage of Sinner, given how he already had his own video not too long ago. I won't complain, any video from this guy is a blessing, but some variety, like covering Novak's miraculous run, would be more interesting.

Yes, Jannik will stay as #1. I predicted his success and continue to believe he can hold on to the title. Nonetheless, for Jannik, this will not be a walk in the park. Jannik needs to keep his accuracy, consistency, fitness, and concentration up while keeping safe on the courts away from injuries. I believe with proper training and especially coaching, he will remain a favorite, and even stand the toughest of his opponents like Carlos, his long-time rival, and the rest of the pack.

Sinner was sick! simples! He didn't look well! He went into the French also without doing much training! As Andy Roddick said in his show Catlitos Elbow was injured as was Sinners hip! however whilst both could do much racket based training Carlito's could work and keep his fitness level up! So Carlito's had the advantage and still took 5 sets to beat him! As did Meddy even though Sinner was Ill! He really has had some bad luck! If you look at this, its similar to Novaks early days where he had many withdrawals and struggled. He then went on to change his diet and training! So it will be interesting to see what happens next! I believe he is Alcaraz only threat!

Absolutely baffled to see a channel with such production values to be so short sighted. You wait 2 weeks to post a new video and your choice is to cover the loss in quarter finals of a player you have already covered 3 times on your last 4 reports while ignoring the real protagonists of the moment . I believe you basically take a while to do your videos and obviously you started producing this one way before the end of the tournament hoping you have chosen the winning player .
