Scott so far as I am aware many wood-framed aircraft were made using spruce and suspect maple would resemble spruce more closely than walnut although wouldn't external structures have simply been painted olive-drab on a British/Commonwealth military aircraft?

@@scottmatthews5280 Sorry the trainer outside looks like a Percival Provost from the UK almost identical .which it isn' t. I wondered what you called it so I to look it up and it was a aeroplane I had never heard of a CAC Winjeel. and aparently quite rare. I'm currently trying to watch your build vlogs in order. It is exellent viewing and you are a good presenter.👍
