His death was the first death of the walking Dead that made me tear up. Morgan was right, the good people always die. They held onto their beliefs and in the end were never meant to suffer in a dying world.

Yes, but on the other hand, Dale was rooting for being humane to others not realizing that the world is different now and that there were already tons of people killing others left and right. Starting season 3, there were a lot of deaths because of confrontations between Rick's and the Governor's groups. Dale would only keep making the matters worse

Even Shane didn't wish that kind of pain and death on dale. He at most would have shot and killed Dale quickly if he felt the need came eventually, but he wouldn't inflict this amount of pain. Shane wasn't sadistic

Going back to earlier seasons, it is crazy how well they establish the subtler themes. As much as this scene influences the Ricktatorship, it also sets Daryl up as a focal point for the end of the series.

Yeah, but like Rick says, it wasn't his fault and people are going to die anyways. Carl may have brought that particular walker, but if Dale was careless enough that this one got him then it just as easily could have been a different walker the next night or a week later.

Dales death signified the end of the groups humanity. He always spoke as a philosophical moral compass for a world that no longer needed it. Hershel later took up that mantle but allowed for much more leeway than Dale did

Dale was the conscience of the group. When he went down you knew it was going to get dark. Sophia, Dale, Herschel, Beth, etc. So many emotional deaths. Glenn and Abraham were the most painful. Traumatizing tv.

This was sad, but i wasnt that attatched to Dale. It was more the guilt Carl felt for not killing that walker earlier. Rick realizing they couldnt operate on him and you cant save everyone whose been bit. And Daryl shooting him in Mercy.
