US is the second largest Spanish speaking country in the world.... does that mean it should be common that most Americans are bilingual... like other countries who have the same statistics. we are comprised of 51 states. on other continents thats like being surrounded by atleast 20 countries and US is only 200 years old which is comparatively young compared to other world powers... which even though they have been there for thousands of years have people who speak more than one language and have more than one dialect. the reason we don't accept people who speak differently is because we are not a homogeneous society so there is a standard. when you say the constitution was written in English then why don't we all sound like brits?
