SOTA wrapped up term 3 with a week together at Port Augusta. 38 students with the help of their dedicated mums made the long journey to school; one mum drove 14 hours, whilst another drove 15 hours just so their children could spend a week with their friends and teachers. One of the highlights of the week was recording the new school song. From Reception to Year 7, students sang with gusto individually or as group. Teachers, govies and one brave parent also gave their vocals a good workout to match the children.
Another highlight for the Years 5-7 students was their visit to Ramsay Retirement Village. They spent an hour sharing stories with the residents and played a game of bingo. When the residents requested a song, SOTA students obliged with an a capella singing of the school song.
Students were also delighted by the thrills provided by Lolly Jar Circus. With the support of Indulkaninna Foundation, Lolly Jar Circus made their trip to Port Augusta to provide 3 sessions of circus practice for the children. They had an absolute ball trying out different acrobatics with the guidance of the wonderful instructors.
