@@ericbarnettcycling So far I've done a couple of 60/70km rides and find them to be comfortable. I ordered using the measurement chart, but found the fit to be 'snug'. If I order another pair I'd consider going up one size. Love the side pockets.

Nice review! It's good that you put the disclaimer and explained about the affiliate link. For us small youtubers the amount the affiliate link makes is so small I don't think it really affects the opinion a lot. Now when it comes to more expensive products where the kickback is more I do wonder how honest people really are... I've had my souke bibs for over a year now, and they've held up really well actually. Not quite as good as the expensive ones (Le Col, Rapha etc) but they're definitely good enough for the riding I do. I'm currently using them for mountain biking as there's so many thorny plants so I would rather have my cheap ones get ripped up 😂 I never knew about the two different souke companies, I just assumed they were the same. Turns out the ones I had are from soukesports not soukecc. I wonder why they chose the same name, very strange indeed!

Yeah, the name thing threw me for a loop. I actually had shot the entire video saying “Souke Sports” the whole time and had to re-do it. Maybe they’re related somehow, maybe copyrights and patents are different in China, I have no idea. I have one bib from each company and the design is incredibly similer, all the way down to the logo. The bibs I have aren’t the same type (basic Souke Sports vs upgraded cargo Souke.cc), so I can’t really do a 1 to 1 comparison. How’s the move back to the UK going?

@@ericbarnettcycling It's very strange indeed, I reckon it's probably the same company but they split it in two for some reason. It's going well! Just taking a lot of time to relax and hang out with the family!

Nice Review. I have a 10 day ride in June in Florida coming up so long and hot. For that I was looking at some substantially more expensive but these might just work for some of the shorter days and also training rides in between I was looking at the. What would be your favorite Bibbs for say century ride in heat?

Hey, sorry for the belated reply! Life gets in the way sometimes, and I've been off the bike. I have a set of bibs from The Black Bibs (the Ultimate, I believe) that I wear for the really long rides. I've worn their regular bibs for centuries, but those ultimates have been great for even 200+ mile rides. Enjoy the C2C!

Eric - do you have any big rides planned for the rest of the year? Big Damn Bridge 100 in Arkansas is late September ... could be fun... and not super super far

I’ve got a 12 hour race in NC this Saturday - after that, nothing planned. I do like to ride at least one century a month. I’ll look up that ride - thanks!

Informative video! Will consider trying them; I already have a pair of cargo bibs from The Black Bibs and they're among my favorites. Have you ridden with these on your stationary bike for long periods of time? Do you feel you get the same level of comfort on that along with riding on your road bike IRL? In my experience, the level of comfort is greater for me when doing outdoor rides due to the sway of being on the road vs riding on the trainer. Some of my bibs are more comfortable on the trainer than others, while riding outdoors is generally comfortable no matter which ones I'm wearing. O/T - did you upgrade your wheels on your Tarmac? -JW

I’ve probably done only two hours tops on the indoor bikes with these, as I just don’t need the pockets indoors. Outdoors, these are probably tied for my second favorite bibs with the standard Black Bibs. For anything 100 miles+ it’s The Black Bibs Ultimate, all the way (I think those were around $80). To be fair, I haven’t tried out the upgraded Souke bibs for distance, nor have I tried The Black Bibs cargo bibs. Good eye, those are new wheels! Trying to get all the advantage I can get for the upcoming race - I’ll do a review on them when I’ve ridden them some more.

As for the pockets, do things fall out at all?
@ericbarnettcycling
11 ай бұрын
Haven’t had a problem - they’re fairly deep and stretchy. As Tony pointed out in a comment, crashing and landing on whatever is in the pockets would be no fun! I’ll stick with gels and maybe a wallet - those should cushion a fall pretty well!
