Todays kids will never know watching Soul Train and American Bandstand on a Saturday afternoon. It was the best time growing up.

Later in the series the announcer's copy was "brought to you by Johnson Products Company, makers of Ultra Sheen, Afro Sheen, and Ultra Sheen Cozz-metics," (spelled as such to accentuate pronunciation) and I would watch this every Saturday if it were still on, as I did when I was a kid, if this is what they'd put on the plate.

Soul Train didn’t have any white dancers until the disco era which was around ‘77 to ‘79. Just go look at American bandstand. You don’t see any black dancers for the first few seasons.
