yes, but after 200 wah jokes he used the wah one time actually playing any leads. (aside from just demonstrating the tone of it) 200 wah jokes and one actual solo that had wah in it. "Sound like Metallica"... spent almost zero time talking about how to get Hetfields' rhythm tone, sorta the whole point of their sound.
@riffwizardsupreme
4 жыл бұрын
Because his tone ain’t that deep. He got his tone with just a RAT/TS9, a plexi voiced amp, and a bridge humbucker. Which, in and of itself, is why his tone is single handedly the greatest in terms of the simplicity behind how great it is rather than needing five million dollars worth of antiquarian drives, rack mounted effects systems, and an esoteric tube head with matching 4x15 cabs.
@hostnik777
4 жыл бұрын
@@riffwizardsupreme - oh right, because the tones they did cover were just the most complex, crazy tones that no one would have ever figured out without this video. What an asinine point. The video is about getting Metallica's sound. Either you do that or you don't. If it's simple, then cool, short video. But to miss out on that while covering clean tone arpeggios and intro solo tones is to entirely miss the point.

A pro level 212 or 412 V30 cab with some big 6L6 power behind it is essential for the right aggression and rawness of their sound. Do it once, do it right, don't look back. Mesa makes some of the nicest gear on the planet, and it should be a lifelong investment.

Bass part ·Rob Trujillo -I found a Warwick RB Corvette in Thomann with JJ pickups. Rob uses EMG active jazz pickups on a Warwick Streamer, but not without busting the bank :(. Anyway, Robert likes 5 strings. The Sire V7 can do the work, its active, JJ pickup configuration... -Ampeg BA 112 V2, like all metal bassists -MXR Bass Distorsion -MXR Bass Chorus -Dunlop Cry Baby ·Lars Ulrich -Tama Rythm Mate Standard with double pedal. That is enough -He used customized Zildjian cymbals, but I think Istanbul Mehmet Samatya is good for a Withoud Busting

I’m new to guitar, but at 46 yrs old, I’m a huge old school Metallica fan ( I used to sing a few covers in bands when I was younger). You guys are both great! ( my first comment on your channel but I’ve seen many of your videos). I think you both did an amazing job with “ capturing the Metallica tone”, keep up the great work. My wife is from England; and so is my amp! ( that should be on a t-shirt)! I will definitely stop into the store you sponsor and buy something when I’m on the other side of the pond, because of your great videos! Cheers... Stephen T

@KarzGuitar

Hareesh Kumar Shanggar I'm a diehard fan. Live and breathe the band, and mean no offense to Kirk (he's a great fit for them even if not the best guitarist) - quite clearly making a joke based off of observation. All of that aside, where does Kirk sweep then? If you're thinking of the Leper Messiah solo, that barely counts(slow 3 string sweeps), and is basically a one off. And if you've watched Kirk at guitar center recently, he was actually playing it without sweeping. So tell me, what have I missed?
@hareeshk99
7 жыл бұрын
FlamePhoenix2009 One, he even does it on spit out the bone. And leper Messiah does count
@KarzGuitar
7 жыл бұрын
Hareesh Kumar Shanggar He certainly does not sweep in One. If you mean during the intro solo, that 'sweeped' part is just arpeggiation of a chord shape, played clean. With the notes ringing and no muting - arguably the most imprtant aspects of sweeping, differentiating it from simply playing a chord slowly. if you're not referring to the intro, care to provide a timestamp? I haven't looked into Spit out the Bones solo yet, so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt there. Once again, I mentioned that Hammett wasn't sweeping during leper messiah's solo - any evidence that he actually was? because the video I mentioned before (entitled Kirk Hammett at Guitar Center) shows him playing it without sweeps. all in all, arguing that Kirk sweeps for a total of < 10s in a 30+ year career is pretty ridiculous. I stand by initial, humorous comment.
@hareeshk99
7 жыл бұрын
FlamePhoenix2009 Sweep picking is a technique dude, so one definitely counts as he does sweep that 3 not arpeggio. Also I don't know why you keep mentioning that guitar center video because he doesn't even play the solo to leper Messiah in that video. And I just remembered that Kirk sweeps in the solo to creeping death.

What lineup is the question Dave and Marty Dave and Kiko or Dave and Chris if you're doing Rust In Peace Era then Dave Mustaine and Marty Friedman, ESP for Dave's rig and a Jackson Kelly for Marty's rig, when Marty left he switched from Jackson to PRS so if there's no Kellys in stock get either a Soloist or a PRS Single Cut
