I always used "Chem X" found Pod XT or Pod x3. Both name and tone sounds a lot like early King's X..

However, that amp model didn't make it into the Helix. It always had a Marshall quality to me.

I've always used high gain stereo chorus combos (Ampeg vh 140c, Fender Princeton stereo chorus or Ultra chorus) and you're pretty much there. Use a strat style guitar. Note : a Les Paul with P-90s sounds REALLY close! It's not exactly perfect but it nails the vibe of the first 4 albums. It also sounds great when playing Queen riffs

I don't own a Fender Strat. Ty used active pickups, so I went for the only active guitar I own. The P-Rails are in Single Coil active mode in the video. Today Ty uses the P-Rails as well btw.

I have a strat and use an Orange Crush Pro 120 solid state like Ty’s current rig. Saying this I don’t get the Ty sound so I use my old Marshall JMP1 which is kind of tube/ solid state hybrid. I run this into the Orange. Sounds pretty close to his sound. Your sound is also very close. Good work!

@Dave Decker Yeah for sure. I have been using an old Alesis Midiverb 2 like Ty used to use. Often online Ty says he used patch 62 for the chorus although on his Patreon channel he said he actually thinks he used a flanger. A small amount of flanger sounds really close to his sound. I used to use a Fender Power Chorus which I always thought was a pretty close match. It was solid state too.
