Lovely playing, Cooper, as usual. Lovely sound. I have a 1970 Martin 00-16C Nylon string guitar I bought new in 1970 for $175. Sounds like Trigger but it is mine and I cherish it.

I've owned this guitar for about 2 years now and occasionally gig with it. I also play in an orchestral group. Firstly, the name of it is impossible to remember, you will never learn it correctly. Secondly, top notch build quality from Martin. The gig bag is a fantastic product, but I'm upset at the price, not to get a hard case. The sound is lovely, sweet sounding with great balance and character. Overtones are particularly strong, and generally this is WAY better for picking/strumming than fingerstyle. The body is not as deep as a Classical guitar for example so it lacks volume in ANYTHING short of playing at home or plugged in. Plugged in, it has a great sound with lots of blend options. The Fishman pickups in it are stellar. If you do any acoustic playing out, you'll likely need more volume and projection. I've tried many different strings, but can't get half the projection of my colleagues Cordobas or Yamahas. Not a shortcoming really considering the limitations of the body shape/size, but something to be aware of. Overall, I love it and have bonded with it nicely. I wish Martin made more nylon options to cover the classical players needs.

Beautiful voice, and an excellent presentation again. I’m glad I subscribed to get these glimpses into guitars I couldn’t possibly check out on my own. My very first guitar was a nylon Spanish based item I’d bought for about $40. I think Good Will may still have it. Hmm…Waylon, Willy, and Cooper. I think I could dig that.

Thanks Cooper, for the very preview of my guitar... Nice playing. Nice sound. I think it's going to be perfect! What are you micing with? And thanks to Ethan for facilitating the deal... Couldn't find one anywhere in the pandemic shorted world! Cheers, guys. Thanks Alamo!

I have one of these and I absolutely love it. I also have a 00028VS -12 fret steel string and I find that I tend to play the nylon more often. Funny thing is I would have never thought I would have ever purchased a nylon guitar until I went to look at this one one day because I was bored and wanted something to do with no intention of buying it… lol .. boy I was wrong it only took me about 30 seconds of playing it and I knew it was going home with me. I love it and would recommend it to anyone, fit and finish are great just as all Martins .

I grew up playing nylon, classical style Japanese made Yamaha back in the day. Learned to play fingerpicking country and folk rock on it. Definitely a more muted sound and an acquired taste compared to a 000 steel string. For that price point I think Martin should include a hard case. That’s a bit of cash outlay and not be able to protect it. Thanks for the video. Excellent as always.

What a great presentation and masterful playing from Cooper. I thought I'd put this out there: I purchased a Gator GWE-000AC hard case for mine, and it fits like a glove. I was pleasantly surprised how nice the case is. I paid $119.00 for it.

Thanks, Cooper. You already sold me on a Red Furch nylon with a more forgiving neck. My battered, brother, and surgeried fretting hand possibly wouldn't handle such a scale length and width ( preferring a 1-11/16 inch nut). You might say it isn't much, but I suspect you haven't been run over by a car while on a sidewalk.

Lovely sound mate, what mic are you running right there? Any EQ, compression, or processing? Loving your tone reminds me of some of my favorite Hawaiian Slack Key players - Looking to revamp my nylon production techniques, any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Seriously awesome flat picking. For anyone moving from 14 fret to 12 fret classical, that cutaway is an imperative. Guitar might have that longer body to allow for the cutaway without any loss of tone. Nice guitar. Now I'm thinkin'...

Hmmm...I think I'll stick with my more cost effective Taylor Academy 12n. The Martin sounded very evenly balanced but I am not sure that it's sound was any sweeter than the Taylor. It actually sounded kind of muted.

Keep your laminate Taylor, yeah I know they call it layered but it the same stuff my kitchen floor is made of.
@nickmcconnell1291

@@deanlockamy2087 The advantage to the laminate back and sides is that they have put an arch in its back and there is no bracing required. This has the effect of making the back do a lot more towards the resonance of the guitar than is usual. The guitar is extremely resonant.

I have one of these. It plays very much like a roomy steel string, but with that softer, rounded off nylon sound (pus it's kinder on the fingers.)😊 It's very much not a classical guitar, neither in feel or tone.
