I own this plugin and you're right...not always my "go to" clipper but there have been occasions where I would use it on the drum buss or bass gtr. I think the saturation settings can be nice if you are tame with them. KClip3 is pretty similar but I agree, not sure if this one is a must have.

A clipper can sometimes be better than a limiter.

Kazrog's KClip 3 is also a multiband capable clipper (and quite popular I gather), I wonder if people are using the multiband on it.

It’s quite an interesting plugin. The clip button and level slider on the far right is for the hard clipper. So you want to make sure that ceiling isn’t set too low. Then all the controls on the left are for the multiband soft clipping/saturator. You can also click the low/mid/high up top to solo each band, and slide the crossovers around. I’ve found it most useful on group buses, and in almost every case I move the lows way up so they stay clean, saturate the mids, and add just enough to the highs if I want some top end, but don’t really let it get crispy. It sort of serves a similar purpose like Saturn 2 for me. Faster to dial in but far less options. I would not reach for it as a dedicated hard clipper, and often turn that portion off

Classic Alan Partridge! Good review. I saw this plugin when it came out. I've a few clippers already and I don't use them too often. So I don't need another one at the mo'. Take care.

I agree, it is not revolutionary. It shines by making things louder while being clean. Guess it is good for beats and dance music. Why not checking redclip by W.A. production, it is 14 euros with even more controls. Have to compare them.

Hi Guys! Love your vids! Keep it up please! Could you do a sh@t review of Good Math from Make Believe Studios? Placed on the mixbus it makes my mixes sound amazing but I have no idea what its doing...maybe you guys can figure it out, hm? I've heard of some pros who use it, thats all I know...Thank you! Cheers

Thoroughly enjoyable review. Best of the Beatles is my favorite album too 😅. Adore Kraftur. It is my new favorite ‘make it louder’ plugin. So transparent. Will be all over my long gestating upcoming album. It could use a few updates: maybe a LUFS meter, and more clarity on the multiband shenanigans. It’s a little too subjective currently. All in all, this is going to be the future standard. It’s just that good. Surprised you didn’t care for it on the master bus. Did you whack all the saturation bits up?😅 Here’s to more ‘Is it Shit?’ This is most certainly not 💩. I’m the smarty pants in the comments.

@@StudioLife101Softube Overstayer MAS and Extended version of MAS also works like multiband clipper imo. It is a saturation plugin in words but it clips transients in my own experience. I am not sure if i really need this while i have overstayer mas.

Putting it on drum bus would allow you to master the track louder anyways that's a good idea. Drums are the main offender for getting loud usually.

Great vid as usual. It's great seeing the last dying breathes of the plugin industry go through it's final convulsions and you fellows are the best at ushering us throughout that hilarious sh*t show. I have to comment though, I thought that by now, plugin developers would be offering us their daft plugins for free, or even paying us swivel eyed users to waste our time with their cadaver efforts at adding extra pointlessness and piss upon an industry whose final product is almost entirely bereft of commercial value. Long live AI and the defunctness of the mixing and mastering industry that has conned us all for years.

It's alot about shit. This dev is a lunatic. He's so obsessed about owners of Gullfoss reselling their licenses that he made Kraftur so you can never actually own it so you can't possibly resell it. I'll never buy anything from them again

Just looking through what it says on their website - "A base fee of $10 is charged for effecting a transfer. Additionally, a transfer fee of 10% of the RRP of the software product will be charged per year of completed ownership for the first 4 years. After that it's 5% of the RRP." - wtf, that's absolutely insane...

Cippers are so overrated in a way. I admit I own the SIR one and the Acustica Fire one. I get the quick east one and I can pretent I have a Lavry sometimes. I don't get this sort of plugin though so I'm glad you came to the same conclusion. I think they just got lucky with Gullfoss which has now also been copied to death.
