Welcome to episode #59 of Sounds Sick, the format, where we´re gonna present a bunch of cool and/or unusual stuff from our studio!
The videos show the sound that really let´s the amp/gear shine , in our opinion. Wether it´s a jangly clean tone or fuzzy rock sound.
This time we are featuring one VERY rare and sought after amp!
The Marshall JMP P.A. 20 1917 made in the year 1972.
This gem is sporting two ECC83s and two EL84s, this thing is sort of a 20 Watt mini JMP. Originally intended as a P.A. amp, this amp can definetly rock!
Classic Marshall!
It sounds like a Marshall should, what else is there to say.
You don´t have as much gain, but if you crank it, as we did of course, you get enough for a really nice classic rock crunch!
This amp really sounds fantastic, just listen for yourself! :)
Signal Chain:
Epiphone Flying V MIK
1972 Marshall JMP P.A. 20
Laney AOR 4x12
Mic´d with a Shure sm57 up close, and a Brauner Phanthera for ambience/room.
No eq, compression or other effects where used!
