Wow, I know practically the entire trip you did. I'm one of the first 4 year graduates from Curie High School. Born and raised on the Southwest side by Archer Park (St. Richards Parish). Moved out of Chicago in 2006. I normally make frequent visits back, but with the virus thing now-haven't been back since late 2019. So many memories.

I'm from Bridgeview, moved to Summit in 79, fell in love with Garfield Ridge especially around Archer & Harlem. Winchell's Donut House! Mr. N's grocery, best meats around. The Valley View restaurant, John's Kart Shop with the go-carts and mini-bikes, Kroozin' Music record store. All the great pizza places that are thankfully still there! Great neighborhood, great times.

Weber's Bakery, Pepe's and the Rainbow Motel are still all there, great! Really miss the Valley View, Mr. N's grocery, and John's Kart Shop from my childhood though.

4:57 RIP Jewel/Osco 5:13 RIP Egg Store 5:36 RIP Tony and Jerrys and Raikes, et al (I forgot what that center used to be called!) 7:40 RIP Dominicks (where do people buy their melk now!?) 9:28 RIP Sears Outlet Store 12:12 RIP Miami Bowl 18:10 RIP White Castle (Archer Ave. Big Store, and the theatre, I forgot where they were) 21:58 RIP Esso (Put a tiger in your tank!) 24:12 - 24:50 The area near where I used to live when I was quite little. I remember walking with my mom to the Bank, a Meat market, a laundromat, and Morris Dept Store (somewhere SE of the bank?) quite often. I guess that's it for my nostalgia. Thank you for this!!

You drove through my childhood home from 1963 to 1972. We lived at 50th and Leclaire (6 blocks west of Cicero) 1972 graduate of Our Lady of the Snows grammar school. Memories galore on Archer. I haven't been back for about 10 years. Looks OK. Thanks for the great drive through accyo :):)

Overall Chicago is pretty clean, even the worst neighbourhoods seem to be fairly well kept.

Nice clear day. What time of year was this filmed? I'm glad I recently found out I can transfer most of my bar exam to Illinois if I ever decide to move out there.

Is 7-9-11 at Archer and Avers still there? We use to get our Polish sausage there for years for Easter. I'm one of the first 4 year graduates of Curie High School. Always try to drive around the old neighborhood when I get back into town.
