I'm born and bred in Great Yarmouth, (still live there) and that view at 0:54 was my childhood view almost every day in the Summer during the 70's...My wonderful Mum used to take me and my Sister down the beach (near the Pleasure Beach) every day after she finished work...We're SO lucky living near such wonderful beaches...

Loved staying there in the 1960's/1970's. It was wonderful to get out of the caravan straight on to the beach and also the funfair

Ahh! Every comment here is right on. I lived in Great Yarmouth from the mid 50’s to 1964. Our house was 5 minutes from the Wellington pier. My father was the first superintendent of the South Denes power station . I left for Canada in 1964, my parents followed in 1967. Is the sand still as good as ever? Thank you for the pictures, as they say, “a picture is worth a thousand words “.

Lol brings back fond memories of the 70s as a child on a Saturday morning, my mum used to caravan clean at South Denes and she d take me to work with her, if I was lucky she,d buy me a fizzy "maid marion" pop. At the end of the camp the local buses a no 2 used to turn round as it was the last stop..... happy days

Excellent i have so many great memories of family holidays on the south denes caravan park from the 60's 70's & early 80's❤ but its such a shame to now see what's left of it and the once pristine beach is just a waste land. The authorities are doing nothing with one of GY's best sea front assets 😢
