South Indian lunch has a variety of dishes to choose from. In this video we bring to you a tasty combo of Bottlegourd/Surakai Morkootu , a curd based gravy side dish and Brinjal Puli Kuzhambu, a yummy tangy dish that is served with rice.
Ingredients
Raw rice 1 cup
Water 3 cups
Lauki Morkootu
Lauki/bottlegourd/Surakai 1/2 kg
Salt to taste
Grated coconut 1/2 cup
Green chillies 2
Jeera/cumin seeds 1 tsp
Rice flour 1 tsp
Curd 1 cup
Coconut oil 2 Tsp
Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
urad dal 1/2 tsp
cumin seeds 1 tsp
Dry red chilli 1
Brinjal Puli Kuzhambu
Brinjals 4
Onion
Tamarind lemon size ball
Onion 1
Garlic 5-6 cloves(optional), Tomatoes 2
Til oil 4 Tbsp
Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
Methi seeds 1/4 tsp
Curry leaves a few
Salt to taste
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
Chilli powder 1 tsp
Coriander/dania powder 2 tsp
