n South Sudan, the newly sworn in army chief of general staff promises to help the unity government in the implementation of the African Union brokered peace deal. President Salva Kiir Mayardit fired General Paul Malong who held the position of the army chief for the past three years. Malong's deputy general James Ajongo is now the head of the army.
