Cool to see a 310 running with a 1250. Looks like you guys had a blast. I can’t wait to do this on my 800gs! Thank you for posting pure riding footage. Subbed and 👍

Sand is always tricky. Your tires look like they would do the job but weight is everything

Did you ever find out the deal with the road closed sign?

Hello, I didn't get a reason other than they probably don't want regular cars to roll through. I had groups run through there recently with no problem. I passed a park official with no issues either.

Awesome Scott! You're a sand expert now. Just wondering, did you guys try to air down the tires? It helps a lot on sand...but not sure if that's a good idea with fully loaded bikes. You and Eric are legit. Love the videos.

I am running Michelin Anakee Wilds. Great tire for traction. In this video the rear tires were down to 30% life. The front still has 70% life.

How much fuel did you use on this route? Ive been thinking of riding my xr on this leg and heading back down the east side of the river
@ScottyADV

I don't remember exactly, but I would say 2 gallons. On the XR it might be a bit more thirsty XR400 or XR650? I used to have a XR250R, solid dirt bike.

@@ScottyADV it's the 650. Being a lighter bike and in sand I would guess it would use less. I have a 4 gallon tank so I think it would make it to Blythe.

I sold my 2018 310GS last year and watching your video makes me wish I had kept it and taken it off road more often. Great video. 👍

It’s hard to see the nets. Kinda looks like a silt fence. Sometimes they’ll put a silt fence around a pond or small water body to keep silt from running into them and settling at the bottom. Just a long shot though tbh.

I think that the 310 was definitely better in the loose stuff.

How many hours did it take you to get to Blythe
@ScottyADV

7 hours with lots of breaks. We also did not complete Milpitas Wash Road/bradshaw trail due to a mechanical. That would add another 1-2 hours.

Not trying to sound like a jerk but your buddy is way too small for that big bike. If you can't lift your bike on your own, it's too much machine for your size. That bike is made for guys my size.
@ScottyADV

Yea it's a big bike, he's 6'4" and can lift it up on his own multiple times. It's just better with teamwork to save energy and effort. Although it is tiring with back to back lifts haha

No such thing as too small a person for a bike. Jocelyn Snow is 5' and 100lbs riding that same bike. Just gotta be willing to put in the work.
