Use all the healthy substitutes if you’re gaining weight. It’s the Mac & Cheese, cornbread, & potato salad that’s causing the weight gain! Can eat collards 24/7 & lose weight. 😊

I am so excited my partner and I just bought a house this year and we’re planning to build a raised garden in the backyard. My westpoint Mississippi raised Grandmother has been growing greens since she was a little girl and my whole life. There is nothing like fresh homegrown greens that were grown with love.. they just hit different.

Collard greens are a staple in my country Kenya, we cut them a little smaller and cook them for five minutes max, I'm surprised to hear you say 45 mins. We serve ours when it's still green in color.

A masterclass in cooking greens. I only cook for myself as my wife is a picky eater. Too much effort to wash a few greens for 2-4 servings, so I buy the pre washed greens. I always wondered about adding bacon to smoked Turkey or pork. Other tricks noted and I will try.

@CamirrasKitchen
10 ай бұрын
if they are coming out tough then they need to be cooked longer. if you are selecting greens then try to pick leave that are on the smaller side. the huge leaves are more mature and tougher. also try an instant pot! you can NEVER have tough green cooked in an instant pot. I pressure cook for 35 min then natuaral pressure release for 15 min.

Perfect, thank you so much. For more than several years I stopped cooking greens because I couldn’t get them tender and they did not taste like when I was younger. I have a crock pot, if I put them in that evening, will they turn sawgy by morning? @@CamirrasKitchen
