Hi Judy. I love pinto beans with meat and corn bread. We grow up on them but did not realize the goodness of pinto beans until I reach a older age. Judy have you heard of anyone putting nutmeg in their beans. My sister-in-law told me my mother used nutmeg and I really can not recall that happening. The silver pan that you have your beans in can you tell me where you purchase that pan. I have been looking for that exact pan for several months to bake chicken in it. Something about that silver pan! Thank you and God Blesses.

On the back eye in that little square pan that is called parboiling after the beans boil for about 30 minutes then you can rinse and strain the water from the beans .... it just softens up the beans so that you won’t have to cook them so long😉
When these ole' church sustu's get it rollin' they don't need measurin' stuff. Just get out their kitchen....and wait to sit down.

Miss Judy Accent Seasoning is not good for us. It may wake up the flavor in food but health wise it is not good. All it is is MONOSODIUM GLUTAMATE. Yall please read about Monosodium Glutamate. Try herbs and other seasonings like Mrs. Dash or anything that is not a big salt base. Some salt is ok at the end of cooking but herbs thyme oregano garlic and onions work great in all of the beans or most of them. Please every cook please throw the accent seasoning away! Read, Read, and read some more. Google Monosodium Glutamate. Hope that is helpful.

Bacon grease is clogging arteries. Please dont pass this type of cooking down to us. We need to live a healthier life. I like all the other tips but that grease is not good. when it gets hard overnight your beans have lard all around them and your heart and arteries will suffer. Not being critical just trying to help us live longer and a healtheir quality of life as we age especially.
